Relaxing Around the T&TT Family Campfire

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Hi Kerry, we had the driest and hottest January on record. Rain is predicted over the next three days, but it looks like it will only be about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch in total. Only just enough to settle the dust. We've just had three days at around 100F. Strange stuff.
Cheers

Ohhh I be thinkin bout Pippi lång strump.. :D :D

I have to make an impressive plan outline about executing a"teardrop tours business " here in Finland & Sweden or within Scandinavia... to satisfy Officials that help in startup procedures and new business info as to what my ideas are, why teardrops, lil bit about them & what customers I want to advertise to & what age groups.

and so on... (Im serious) I have an appointment at noon Friday..And there will be 10 business advisors and application approvers and so on there.

Also they ask as to why they should back me up on an adventure like this.. I had one interview already today with one of the new business executives.. now this want to see a business plan on paper..

Its taking some serious writing of ideas and positive thinking..so thats what Im doing at this moment..
    Also they want to see a practice run brochure of sorts to get them interested in this..YIKES. :? Any ideas?

Yes indeed your ideas and input are sure welcome. My experience in the profession of incoming travel and the travel field in general was my best info given so far that they liked..including my schooling to go with it.

Being able to make tailor made tours for people is one of my skills,
which involved lodging, routes, extras such as sightseeing schedules and entertainment and guides ... so on Ive been doing for 25 years in total.

Being able to do price calculations & costs for individual or group tours.

But now Ive never done a brochure or such for this type of thing.

I guess I know somthing about teardrops. by learning from the folks here and building one..  The interest is there from the start up people or officials here so its somthing Id like to do. Guided Tours with the use of teardrops for lodging & the tailor made routes and sights is easy for me though..

So yes that is my project to try to impress these folks on Friday. On a presentation. Ohh also my language skills were of importance to them as well as geographical knowledge.

So those are some thoughts to go through and how to be able to sell the product to them as a start.

One plus is that they were curious about the teardrop in general and certainly no one here is even doing such. And was given the ok as to their liking of the idea.. ;)

My idea is also that this would be directed towards - Nature Tours or Eco tours. Fisherman come here to fish and thats one type of group Ive had plans to direct it to. Thats for starters..

Why a tear over a well equipped full caravan? Why a tear when you have more space in a full caravan? This was asked of me so far.. :)

Sounds like you have a very good start and good experience backing you up.
Do you have pictures for your brochure? You will need some pictures.
I like doing that artistic sort of thing....making flyers and such. Maybe I can be of assistance.

As far as pictures really I have to say no in a sense that our tear is not done. However, I do need to get a few nice photos of a tear that will show interior, Galley & Setup..Also the concept of back to the 40,s or 50,s camping and so on..

For now this brochure doesnt mean that its the "Actual Brochure" but a mock up to show the concept and so.. Pictures & Maps of the possible routes, places where we plan to stay overnight...but the tear is the main magnet or attention getter..

One main attention getter is the route up to the Northern Most Place in Scandinavia reached via highway is Nordkapp or North Cape.. It draws thousands upon thousands of tourists from all over the world each summer. Located 71° North.

http://www.nordkapp.no/index.php?language=en&cat=51215

This is one of the main sights I am planning. The entire trip there will be one of beautiful scenery, great places to fish, swim & canoe. And certainly beautiful memories for photographers.

Capn,

I'm sure that you can impress those guys and get your business going. If you want, you are more than welcome to use any pictures of mine that you think might be useful. Unfortunately, my build photos are currently unavailable, but I will try to put them up somewhere tonight or tomorrow.

I know you don't have it right now, but MS Word is pretty easy to make 3-fold brochures in. I am not sure about OpenOffice capabilities.

I,ll have somthing for them.. As Im writing I have things already chosen as one the above link to North Cape which is totally on the Norwegian side.

Also they are asking for the amount of tears available..UGH!! Sizes Available. Amount of people taken along on this tour at a time and just odd ball questions but I know logical ones at that.

They told me that at least I have a positive attitude and way of thinking to make this happen.. even though no it wont happen over night.. I was told that the 1st 3 years are the most crucial in startup here anyways.

Advertsing is the most expensive item to be covered and the avenues of doing so..

This place that Im going to be signing up for Friday is named Travel Park which is basically a community of experts to assist in carrying forward the ideas that a person has as is in my case pertaining to travel & the marketing of the idea into a working product..

You may have this type of places in the USA but here they have been very successful in this program..I just cant think of the proper name in English..
