When I came home today from work I went out on my back deck I look into the field behind me. Low & behold there where 13 Bald Eagles. We normally have 2-3 out there in the evening. I was able to get a few piture.

The first 2 photos are about 200-300 yard from my house.

These 2 pictures are maybe 1/4 mile or so away. There were 3 on the ground & 4 in this tree. One of the ones on the ground flew off as I took the picture.

How is it that one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire? ~Author Unknown~

The only place I have ever seen a bald eagle is in a zoo!! If that were around here, those birds would be turkey vultures!!!

There are several pairs that I know of on this end of the state. We see them all the time when we're trout fishing around Franklin. I've heard there are a couple near me somewhere but I haven't seen them myself yet.
Never seen that many at one time tho, usually just 1-3 of them.
That's pretty cool!

We just bought 180 acres on the South Canadian River. There is a place where the railroad used to come across. Twice now, as we've been standing up there watching the river, we've seen an eagle fly out and across. It's amazing. While we were in Alaska, they were everywhere. But not here in Oklahoma. It's certainly something not see often around here.

I hear they taste like chicken.

Just kidding.

How lucky to see that many in one place!
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

They've made quite a comeback in the hills of the eastern Ohio Valley. So much so they've been seen in the window sills of tall buildings in downtown Cincinnati. I've got friends in rural Brown County Ohio that had a nest visible from the window in their living room. Their daughter used it for her 7th grade science fair project.

:o WOW!
I've seen them, but only 1 at a time. Once during a canoe trip on the Delaware, and we even had one that was hanging around here, he was flying above the apartment complex. The maintenance man came out and caught me standing in the middle of the parking lot staring straight up at the sky. He didn't seem to be as impressed as I was.
Its so nice to see that they are coming back!

I once saw a Bald Eagle fishing in a small stream in Southern Michigan only about 2 hours from Chicago. Amazing sight.

I disagree with Len, I heard that Bald Eagle taste just like Manatee.

The pictures are truely cool, but I'm kind of surprised. I thought eagles were unlikely to group up like that due to being terratorial. SHAME on all of you...THEY taste like CHICKENS! "THEY" is Plural!!!

Update:

I decided to contact the local Fish & Wildlife department to let them know about the sighting. I fould out we are in a Bald Eagle management area. Thet were very interested in the sighting & have asked me to forward them the pictures. They said it was the largest sighting in Western Washington on record. They are planning on sending someone out to observe them for a while. They think most of them are just visiting but the want to see if they stick around. I am sending the pictures tonight.
