Postby Grumpeyyy » Thu Feb 28, 2008 2:51 pm

Hi

I was just wandering if anyone here was into antique motorcycles and if any of you go to the AMCA swap meets. We are looking at going to a few of them this year like to one in OLey Pa on april 25-27 or Wauseon Ohio on july 18- 20. :applause:

Look forward to hearing from anyone else interested in these.

I recommend the AMA Vintage Days---This year it in Lexington Ohio at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Park on July 25 to 27. It include a vintage race, swap meet, and trials exibitions. See AMA vintage Days

Another good weekend is Irontons Rally on the River in August.

I was just reading about that vintage days just recently in the AMCA magazine and they said it was real good.

Have you been to any of them? We were up to the one in Wauseon last year and realy enjoyed that one.

But I enjoy anything old thats why I'm still married to my wife.
She watched me type this and hit me for it. :) :)

I've got this 1962 Honda 50.

I also have a 1975 Honda CB360. I haven't gone to any swap meets. Always got parts from eBay.

I have an engine out of one of these. The rear cylinder was removed to make it a flat track racer. Sure wish I had the rest of the bike.

OOPS, looks like the photo got removed, I'll get a picture of my engine up here in a couple days. It's a 1915 to 1921 Power Plus Indian.

Kevin

Do you have the rear cylinder for it?? The motor is probably worth quite a few dollars.

Sam

Those old hondas are real nice.  A friend of mine that got me into riding many years ago had a couple of them but I don't know what ever happened to then.

I have seen some parts for them, as well as some real nice restored bikes, at some of the antique swap meets.

I don't. :( It's missing the rod, piston and cylinder.

antique motorcycles

Postby mary and bob » Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:18 am

we have two 1972 Yamaha Enduros, a 100 and a 125. the 125 has about 1000 miles on it and is almost like new, the 100 has just a few more miles. also have a 65 Yamaha 80 that I need some parts for. don't really consider them antiques, just old . now I'm getting into old bicycles to go with our 46 Modernistic teardrop. just bought a Raleigh and a BSA [Birmingham Small Arms Co.]

I know where a rare Tilbrook motorcycle is up for sale down here. There are only 3 of them still around and they all live in Australia.
Have a look here:
http://www.ma.org.au/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Online_Classics&Template=/CM/HTMLDisplay.cfm&ContentID=10149
The one I know about is fully restored and in great condition. You will need a heap of dollars to get hold of it :(
Cheers
Paul

Lee Bryant...aka Lazybones is into vintage scooters...has a number of Cushmans and probably one of THEE premier Saulsbury scooters in the country, I'm thinking a '48. Also has a number of vintage European and Japanese scooters. I never know what find is next...but he is an incredible scrounger! Plan is for me...maybe a Cushman for a resto next winter, vs. another tear. Doug

PS Sam..that's one sweet Cub 50!!!

Last year my younger brother restored my dad's bike that we rode in the hills as kids. It is a Mustang motorcycle. We use to thrash around in the dirt with it. It looks better than new now. I don't remember the exact year (early 50's?).

A fellow-teardropper collects, both cars and motorcycles. I was more interested in the cars, so the motorcycles were included if they were in the general vicinity. He is into Harleys and Indians:

These pictures are from a few years ago. I will get more photos, but not till the 4th of July:

Cliff...what a wonderful job on the Mustang!!! I wish I had something like that as a kid...mine were Japanese bikes, no real styling like that....

Mike...just gotta make it up to Carnation...that's one I'd like to attend. Doug
