What 3 things

Postby Claw » Fri Feb 29, 2008 9:13 pm

I was thinking  Lack of money and all the time work requires sure prevent me from doing some really fun things.

So I beg the question:
What 3 things would you do if, you had two years off, and $100K to spend?

Pay off the house and all our bills. Help the children pay off theirs. And if there was any money left, travel and see some of the country I've always wanted to see. If not, buy a good book and sit out in the porch swing in the sun and read.

What would I do

Postby eamarquardt » Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:05 pm

Be careful what you wish for. I have all the time in the world and enough to get by on. But, I don't feel good enought to enjoy it.

Savor every healthy day you have and that should be enough.

Cheers,

Gus

1. First things first. I would pay off ALL my debts, including my house, and 100K would do it.

2. Then, I would continue to do Photography assignments for money to support my daily living, and because I enjoy doing it. But, I could be very choosy about assignments, and only work about five days each month.

3. No plans. I'd live each day in the moment. Camp when I feel like it, or do some volunteer work, if I'm so inspired. Spend some time doing absolutely nothing. Simplify, simplify, simplify.

I posted my answer before I read anyone else's (didn't want to be influenced).

Looks like me an Mike have similar dreams. And, Miriam would buy things while Mike would pay things off. In other words, a typical married couple.

And, Steve, would you take your wife with you? She'd probably miss you. ;)

Can't wait to see more answers. Cool thread.

I did not choose "pay down debt.. bills] For I have pretty much done that already. I do owe some money but the interest is less then what I am getting on my Cd. so paying it off... is rather foolish.

It would be nice to better finish the house we are building..but my first thought stays.. get on the bike and go. To see more of this great country.. and to visit some of the fine people here on this forum.

Pay off my house. Then I wouldn't have to sweat the market and have to sell it before I move this year.
