Going to California

Postby MrgrumpyNJ » Tue Mar 04, 2008 12:44 am

I will be in California on the 6th to set up and work a booth at the western toy fair in Pamonoa till the 11th. 8) I was wondering if
anyone here would be going either as a manufactures rep or a buyer for the retail industry? The only 2 places I will really get to see are
my hotel and the toy fair  since this is when we get to meet our west coast customers.
We have plans almost every evening with 1 or 2 of them for dinner while we are there and not much chance of getting any free time.
I was hoping to be able to spend an extra day or two out there and possibly meet a few of the folks on the west coast but no such luck.
I think next year I am going to try and take some vacation time after the show and bring my wife out and see what there is to see out there. :)

Aw bummer. I'm just over the hill from Pomona but have a family matter to attend to this weekend. So like that, maybe next year and give us a little more of a warning. Who knows, maybe the So-Cal Chapter can put on a gathering. And if you've never been to the West Coast, there is a lot to see in Southern California and you don't have to worry about no stinking humidity. Also, there is a big gathering (teardrops only) towards the end of March every year. There averages 100 teardrops at that gathering.

Oh and it looks like it's going to be in the mid 70's during your stay. Swimming pool weather. Be sure to bring your sun block in case you are able to get out durning the day.

Don, you are so close, yet you think so far. Surely you can sneak away for a few hours one of those evenings and head down the freeway down to my place. From Pomona, it's only 11 miles to the I-15 fwy. Then south 34 miles and you are within 3 miles of me and my little 1/2 Nelson Woody. Would really like for you to charge on down and we can chat a bit about trailers. The coffee is always on and the I Hop restaurant close by has wonderful Swedish pancakes. Come on down and sit a spell.
Roly, a little closer than Gage and you don't have to go over any mountains ;)
