Aw, that was just a baby per California standards. Something that happens all the time around here. And besides, Earthquakes only happen in California. Ask any one who doesn't live in California.

:o Hope everyone is ok. Considering the age of some of the building there, in England, might not take a big one to cause problems.

Now on the news its that the US Geological Center measured it at 4.7 and the British measured it at 5.4. No report of casualties or damage.

Its very rare in Britain they state.

Maybe our UK friends can comment..

Apparently, we get a quake like that about once every 10-20 years - that's news to me as I've never experienced one. This one was at 01:00 and I slept through it just fine! One person injured by a falling chimney, which isn't as bad as you might expect for 30 million people who it affected (because our country is so crowded).

California gets alot, but they are not the only ones that have the unfortunate opportunity to experience them. We here in Oregon have had our share of them, not as big, but we still have them. California doesn't have Mt St Helens, Mt Reinier in Wa that is supposed to blow sometime????? and this one will do more damage and take more lives that all of the earthquakes in Ca. since who knows when, Then there is Yellowstone.
Oh well, life will still go on.
Glad there was no one hurt there.
So I guess that all we have to do is to relax and wait till it happens :relaxing:
