I'm campable at $850.00 but have a few more bells and whistles to add this summer.

Welcome hope I can help. I used a 4" foam matress that way you can cut it to fit. what frame will you use? I used a 4x8 TSC frame and built a 5x8 over the wheels worked out great. By the way our bed is 58" wide by 73" long were short. You said 10' long so that will work fine. Good luck. Ken

I had planned on using a 4in mattress but I ended using a a 6in matress from Wal-Mart. It is a foam and memory foam mattress. You'd have a hard time using a regular mattress because you have to fold them to get them thru the door. A foam matress is hard enough, I couldn't imagine a spring matress.

Thanks for the memory foam ideas! Very helpful. My husband and I are hooked we go to bed talking about what we want to do next on the camper..... I don't know if thats a good or bad thing ha ha

I have a 8" foam/memory foam mattress in mine from Walllyworld and there is plenty of room to sit up in it.

Rabbits ,,, if your concerned about head room , have him sit on the floor & measure how high he is. I think you'll find that there is plenty of headroom at 4ft. Also measure the thickness of a mattress & add that to his sitting height to see the headroom . just remember when sitting on a mattress it will squish down. Maybe have him sit on your bed & measure that way. Could be fun! One thing to remember when you cut the doors out , how thick your mattress will be, as when you sit in the door the back of your legs will be hitting the bottom of the door cutout. You don't want it to pinch you legs. ( now does any of that make sense to you ) Good luck on your build!

We have started our project after getting some supplies through the week. My husband started the welding of the trailer on March 7th and it's about complete. We finally have pictures in our album if you would like to take a look.

I'm 6'0" and have found that a standard Full-size mattress works fine for me (54" x 75"). I am planning on using one of the foam mattresses from IKEA. You might want to look into those if you have an IKEA close.
For a name, I vote for "The Bunny Hutch" Who's with me!!!

Congrats on starting your build I am 6"6". My tear is 5x8 I have a Queen size futon matres in mine and I have all the room I need for me and my wife, heck we can even fit our 10 year old in there with us. Have fun !!!!!

Thanks so much for all the great advice and suggestions! We are well on our way we even have the roof on just no pic yet. We finished that Monday night. Easter weekend we spend a lot of time on the camper ect. We are very excited! Uploaded new pics to our album for you to see.

Alright , great looking Teardrop. And a really cool looking Great Dane. I've had many Danes over the past 25 years, Loved them all.
I'm still at the chasis stage on my camper. It will be 6'4" wide and 12' long, and probly 5' tall with a dropped floor to the front. Good luck finishing yours. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
