Todah Tear, thanks for the tip about mappoint.com. I printed out complete instructions for my up coming trips. For the Beaver Bend run, I'm driving from KC to Roaring River state park in Missouri on thursday, spend the night, then head to Oklahoma on friday. Then on sunday, do the same thing in reverse. I'm not really up for an 8 hour drive all at one time. Besides, what better way to turn a 3 day trip into a 5 day one?

Shame I won't be back in Texas till June - July. :( Beavers Bend is only about an hour & 15 minutes from my hometown.

If any of you want to see some really nice old muscle cars, check out the museum behind the McCurtain County Cinema in Broken Bow. It's owned by a guy name Phil who has a nice collection of stuff. If Phil himself is around there working on things he'll probably give you a guided tour himself & tell you every little tidbit about every car there.

JeremyL, sorry you can't make this gathering. There's always next year.

Ok..............2 weeks to go..............Is everyone packed and ready?

Us ? Not quite........Charles has a little finishing up trim to do and his flat screen TV to buy. I've got to clean all the sawdust etc out of the cabin and galley, buy a bed, buy bedding, organize and build under the cabinets in galley, pack and................. I think that's all.

guess I need to get off the computer and get out to the shop..

See everyone real soon.

YES two weeks from today I'll either be there or be on the way !
Don't know what the weather will be like, I haven't looked at weatherchannel.com yet.

I should try to get out tomorrow and get the ice chest drawer redone and gosh, do SOMETHING to finish the Jewel Box.

I'll be there no matter what !!

Look for another thread concerning FOOD

Can’t wait – getting all the little stuff ready to go. Even have someone to fill in for me Sunday so we can stay the weekend! The count down has begun!

OK Jewel,

At least the Jewel Box has a hatch on it. I took the hatch off of Todah and I haven't had the time to rebuild it. Next week, I will have to get crackin'!

Well it looks like we will be a no show for Beavers Bend this year. We are currently under a vacation freeze at work and it's been extended to April 7. If we make it will be a last minute thing. I want to be rich and retire.

:o OH RATS!!!!! You'll be sorely missed but I understand.... I'd rather retire now while I have the energy and I promise I'll go back to work when I"m 70 and just wanna sit all day anyway ... hahaha

Tell Sylvia we'll miss her smiley face too !

Scott, sorry to here you and Silvia are not going to make it. :(

JeremyL, sorry you will not be able to make it also. :(

Just a little over a week away. More to do on the trailer; nowhere near finished but campable anyway ( weathered - in - kinda ). Just the structure now maybe I can get some of the skin on before next week ( see the pictures in my gallery - over a month old ).

Does anyone know Beavers Bend's pet policy? All I can find about pets on the web sites is that they are welcome in the cabins.
