Sam:

Del gets around! It was just a couple of months ago that I met him and BobGorilla at Ft. Desoto, about 45 minutes from my home. The Jelly Bean has no insulation so I know he is freezing his booty off. Glad he made it safely.

Miriam - you are so right  .

Barb, I like to sew when I have a goal in mind but my mom calls my sewing "experimenting". Most of the time I just buy the material and mail it to her...she's good.

Auntie M: love the curtain. You know there always has to be a rebel in the group... so while the whole flock is flying south there is the one that wants to go north

Lynn: How goes the mystery book?

Barb: Hows everything going with ya?

Sam: Are is Montana still in the deep freeze?

Amy: Hows your build going?

Rebecca: What ya got planned for the TD?

Every one have a Great St. Patricks Day.

Hi Mandy!

I have been working on waterproofing the hinge on my galley hatch all weekend. I got the rubber roofing down and sealed and have 4 tiny pieces of metal left to screw down today. I will take some pictures today and post tomorrow. It is not the prettiest job (sealing) but I bet it won't leak now! It is not easy balancing on a 4' ladder and leaning on the hatch to screw in about 60 screws. There were definately some "oh crap" moments :worship: . Brian watched me work for a minute and then said he was going program 911 on the speed dial. :O . But, so far, no major brusies or cuts...but the day is not done. Cross your fingers...I'm finishing it this afternoon.

Hi Mandy,

The book hasn't moved much in the past week. I'm hoping to get some more done tomorrow. Actually I'm hoping to write the opening scene, which of course is a crime whether or not it is a murder or an attempt I'm still debating.

Miriam, I love the curtains. I can't sew, period. I tried many times. I have two sisters who are blessed in that department, as for me and my mom...well let's just say sewing machines hate us.

I really suck with Photobucket! I don't know how to downsize these enormous photos. Oh well, here are the before and after photos of my galley hatch hinge. I am leaving it uncovered for the big test tomorrow. If it leaks, then I will have to call the fire department to come and put out the fire that I am going to light under it!

8) Why, Becca it looks as purty as mine. ;) Is that black stuff rubber or some type of goo?

To reduce pictures in Photobucket you need only to click on the tiny options word above where you upload and tell it what size. Photobucket will do it for you.

Thank you all for the kind words. You girls who don't sew need to see mine up close. 8) Could never get a straight line. This pattern is different because you sew on a printed pattern. 8)

M:

It's rubber roofing. I will show you a different picture. It was a long piece of thin rubber membrane that is used on top of RV's, or should I say under the roofing of RV's to water proof it. It is about the same consistancy of a bike inner tube. It is supposed to work great from everything I've heard. I thought that was what you put on yours. Ok, I'm going back into Photobucket once more...I'll be back in a minute (I think).

Aunti M:
I am almost finished a new dishwashing table. I cut the holes a different way in order for the table to hold the Hot Water on Demand on the back of it. I put all the hardware on it and now it just has to be painted. That was also done this past weekend. I was a busy gal.

  You know Becca, if you have a sink you really don't have a good excuse to not do the dishes. :R 8) I still have to make one. ;)

To get folks to your photo bucket you need to make it public and post a url. Mine is in my signature. Just don't post pictures in there that you don't want the world or your boss to see. 8)

I get pictures in my album from my computer. I size them and make them jpg then they upload great.

Didn't try it from photobucket.

:duh: so true...so, so true. But when I am camping, washing dishes seems like therapy for me. I watch everything that is going on around the campground and I forget I'm washing dishes. I snap back to reality when a coon comes around and tries to get in my galley in BROAD DAYLIGHT, right next to me...that's when a wet sponge goes flying at his backside.

Becca, Your hatch seal looks great. That should do the trick. I've just started building my hatch this past weekend. I ordered the hinge today. I can't wait to finish it.  Peg

Why thank you Miss Peg. I used a whole tube of clear epoxy...wanted to make sure it will never have a water breech again. I took Aunti M's advice and put it under, over, around, etc. Now I just have to figure out a solution to the hatch fix. When it rained in it a couple of times, the door wood swole up and now it won't lock. I thought I had the answer with some pull-tight latches but that won't work. I may have to post a couple of pictures and get some advice from the folks here.

Good luck with your hinge. Pictures, pictures, pictures. :snappy:
BTW, does anyone know how to fix the time that shows up on these post? It is 10:30 p.m. right now, but it post 5:29 a.m. and it post the wrong day. What's up with that?
