Is this what you heard?

Here's another one

Typically you will see homeless folk in tents under bridges and such. You will also see old RV's that move around from parking lot to industrial areas. Looks like some people think it is better to consolidate them into one area.

Well it's not as if the city could put them on a huge lot just for rv's and tents, have at least one member of the family work off the lot rent by cleaning public streets, sidewalks and buildings so it doesn't cost the city as much. Meanwhile find employment for other family members (even minimum wage jobs) to help get them on their feet again. Oh yea, I forgot, those jobs are the jobs the government says Americans don't want. That would never work.

I kinda like the idea. Every tent has a tracking device. Your brilliant.

I read the articles that Mark linked and it caused me to wonder how I would cope if my means was reduced to this poverty. It seems obvious to me that not only are the financial supports broken but also and worse in my opinion emotional supports are broken. It is a tough solution for communities to accomplish. The direction "love thy neighbour as thyself" becomes pretty convicting if these tent communities are so concentrated.

Better pass out porta-potties and make a dump station. disease is the result of too many people in one place with no clean water or sanitary facilities.

Some of these folks would no doubt benefit from a plan similar to Guy's plan to get vets into livable tears, wouldn't they?

But that would make two assumptions -- the first that we'd all like to see these people in a better situation, and the second that these folks would have access to materials and tools to improve their situations.

I'm very thankful to have been able to finish my mortgage before I lost my job. My new job pays about 5/8 of what my previous job paid.

YES! In Ontario they are having a problem. They have this spot of land for a tent city. LOTS of people from all over the state or showing up there with no other place to go. But now Ontario is kicking people back out onthe street if they cant prove that they are a resident of Ontario. Ummmm.... i dont get it. I thought these people didnt have homes. How can they prove a thing? Its sad, it makes me sad. Just seeing people go through that kind of life is hard to see. :( All the time when i pull my camper by these places i think how lucky i am to have even my teardrop. Because if it came down to it i could live in my teardrop. ;)
Im not lazy. I just hang out a lot.

I wonder if people should go to AZ instead. Where's that place that all the snowbirds go to camp for free?

I can't figure out why they don't go up to SF. The city hands out a generous stipend monthly to the homeless, free medical, no prosecution if you're in the country illegally or for panhandling. Doug
