Thanks everyone......Many of you may wonder where the name comes from.....well here it is. One of my favorite things to do is to drive down Padre Island National seashore, set up a tarp and stay from dusk til dawn. After awhile of doing this my wife coined this activity as doing a "Castaway" Well from now on I can do it and then crawl into my "Casataway" instead of my tentcot.

Thanks again!

How did you seal the bottom of the pullout at the rails? Won't water and muck come in as your driving?

Great build, by the way... I love it.

The channels are recessed in the floor and extend into the cabin about one foot. We drilled holes every so often for drainage and cut two boards that we insert during travel. It rained very hard on my trip last week and it seemed to work.

Ok I gotta ask, and if I already asked please excuse the CRS. Can you get in the TTT with the slider inside?

Yes....but only to store some stuff away....... there is about 18 inches of clearance between the slide-out and the cabinets. And you can access it from the door or the cargo hatch on the other side.

I really like your idea and it looks terrific. Have you scaled it to find out the weights? I was wondering about the weight, specifically the tongue weight when loaded. You addressed that issue with towing with a big truck, but my truck isnt too big.

Anyway, nice project.
