Lady Tear Droppers, drop in and say "Hello"!

This is where the gals can have their very own discussions...

Marilyn:

We have a couple of things in common...my little girl (Maltese/Havanese) is a little over a year old and she too is Maggie Mae. I am laughing at Maggie's nickname because my girlfriend, Fran, said Maggie's name should have been "I Bite". She loves to bite me and her daddy but it is not a vicious biting, it's puppy biting but it's still annoying. She doesn't bite anyone else and loves other animals but she loves to give me nips. I couldn't figure out why I had bruises on my thigh...well, I realized that when she would get excited playing and me running from her, she would jump up and give me a love nip. She really is a sweet little gal - just all puppy. I'm glad your Maggie is making progress. My ex-brother-in-law has a Boston Terrier that my sister-in-law dubbed the Boston Terriorist.

Sam, spring will be there shortly - and probably stay only shortly :), so get ready to work. You know we are all here to support you. Take some pics and Aunti M will be happy. Heck, take pics of anything, we are picky.

So I'm guessing my Maggie doesn't get to meet the Terrorist - they might be a match. Takes a bully dog to know a bully dog. One day she may meet her prince, but he's gonna have to be an alpha.

I look forward to meeting your Maggie - she sounds like a cutie.

Hi everybody!!!

Had to throw a few words on.... Shelly got the house listed so were taking the dogs and cats camping this weekend, so they can show the house! That's a good excuse, right? We both have camping fever so were heading out tonight and back Sunday!!!

Everyone have a great weekend and a happy Easter!

:D Yes you do, please  ;) Happy Easter Peggy, and the rest of you who will be away tomorrow.

I bought more trim today so going to try to bend it tomorrow. Then when it gets warm going to have to fix the boo boo in the varnish. Might have to take it off and do something. :?

Hi to all you lady builders

Postby rabs » Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:42 am

Hi Ladies, Just thought I would pop in and let you all know that I admire every one of you girls for the great builds and it inspires me to make mine just as good, I haven't been posting many photos as yet as im still welding the frame, but there are a thousand things churning around my head like what will I do with the galley, interior etc etc etc etc, Ya gotta love building these things but its becoming an obsession cause I cant go into a hardware store without thinking geez I could use that in my teardrop, keep up the good work

cheers

rabs

The trim is Spalted Maple and is all wood. Alum. would be easier at this point. I am currently working on the inside trim and broke another piece of "glass bead" quarter round. I guess I need to do the steam thing and come back when it is dry to glue it.

The outside Maple is pulled away from the sides in a couple of places. Disconcerting because I used epoxy and brads to set the stuff. Then I covered it with clear coat for UV protection. Guess the Maple warped in spite of my care.

Thanks Rabs and MJ

We are supposed to have nice weather so I might get it fixed before water gets in and makes it spalt some more. Work is never done.

Well, I am happy and quite proud to say my galley hatch hinge does not leak! :applause: We had two pretty hard rains since I fixed it and I opened it right after both rains and a couple of days after and no water....none...zero.

Now if I can just get the hatch to lock properly I might be able to keep my little green friend from "camping" inside of my galley. Here he is sitting on the galley lid prop...probably the same one who has jumped on my forhead a couple of times when I opened up "his" camper. His name is "Freddie the Teardrop Frog". This picture does him no justice...he really is a beautiful frog.

Aunti M, sorry to hear about your trim. I know how frustrating it is when things don't go the way you want them to. Oh, how is the water situation?

 Good job Becca. Freddie looks quite happily at home. With all this rain he is probably glad you fixed his leak. 8)

We are about back to normal here. Runs off fast. We are due for more rain so I am not covering the TD today and have treated the open edges with the hairdryer.

Congrats Becca!!! :applause: :applause:

I still have not had the nerve to put my TD to a Hard Rain test. Just a sprinkle with the garden hose to wash it off.

Have not been around in a couple weeks. We have been hard at work on our teardrop check out our album I just posted new pics. We even got the roof on Monday night. I've also been working on getting my gardens started it's about that time again. Onions and potatoes are in the ground. Daffodils and pansies were planted yesterday along with some wildflowers along the fence line. Excited for the nice weekend ahead so I can get some more planting and yardwork done. :) We also are going to work on the teardrop more over the weekend!! Fun fun!
