So, here's the plan

I've been eaves dropping for quite a while now and have decided that this is what I need for my very small amount of camping per year.
The challange, (or plan) is to use up a bunch of rebates from a store called Menards. I've been collecting these rebates for years with no idea what to do with them until now. I have about $1000 in rebates but they must be spent at the Menards stores. I've looked all around at the options for trailers and it seems that the Northern Tool 5x8 is the frame I'll use. I have an abundance of left over oaks from years of projects so the cabinets should be inexpensive. Screws, glue, and plywood is also hanging around here looking to be used. Execpt for a few items that Menards doesn't sell, I should be able to build this for next to nothing. Think it can work? I'll take all opinions.

I can't see any reason it wouldn't work. I got the vast majority of my build parts from run-of-the-mill hardwares stores. You might have some trouble finding some of the more specialty items there (aluminum trim, 12v fixtures, etc.) but those are easily found other places.
Good luck with the build.
Disclaimer: I've never been to a Menards.

Sorry about that, A Menards is the upper midwest competition to Home Depot and Lowes.

Image to the playground Bob. Free sounds good to me. 8) You will be amazed at how fast things start adding up if you don't make a list. Lots of wonderful stuff to take home.

I hope you have a camera, cause you will be needing one. Gotta keep that bubble oil level. ;)

Good luck on your build. I've purchased a bunch of my stuff from Menards. With what you already have and the rebates, you should get by real cheap.

Hi Ron,

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you've almost got it paid for, so now all you gotta do is build it. But as you proceed, be sure and take lots of pictures, so we can see what you have going. Any questions, just ask.

See you around.
