GLOCK Int. and RUGER USA ANNOUNCE JOINT EFFORT

SOUTHPORT CONNETICUT: upc news service
4/01/08 staff writer Amy Weingardenz

From their Southport Conn. headquarters Steve Sangetti board of directors chairman for Ruger USA announced via satellite-phone teleconference with Rother Glockenspiel ("Dr.G") a joint effort of the two companies to produce the first all polymer handgun. The new gun, a revolver, code named "Black Widow" will be the first all polymer revolver produced as a joint effort between the two companies. Sangetti said a shell company called GLUGER USA will be formed to produce the guns in the United States from parts imported from Glock in Austria.

The new gun, based on the Ruger SP-101 will be made from carbon fiber and boron reinforced cast plastic parts. The parts cast in Glock's manufacturing plant in Europe will be shipped to Ruger's Southport plant for final machining and assembly. "The "Black Widow" will have only four metal parts, the barrel liner, the firing pin, and two springs", Sangetti said. "The new gun, the first of it's kind, will be invisible to metal detectors and should have no problem getting through TSA screenings at airports and metal detecting wand searches at federal buildings and other secure facilities", Dr. "G" stated via satellite phone. The new gun is expected to show up in gun stores spring 2009.

The TSA could not be reached for comment but local police interviewed in Southport were appalled at the prospect of an invisible handgun. "This is an outrage" said Police Chief Haggersfeld from his office today. "Why not just make a shoe gun then everyone could have one" he added.

Good one. Caught me with my brain in a fog. :rofl2:
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

very good and I was all ready with a reply.

I work in a prison and you might be surprised at what can be turned into a gun. I've seen pictures of a cell phone that was also a gun, both worked.

Scary stuff really
