I've had the Turtle out of the garage for a couple weeks now, but it's still cold and snowing just enough every night that I haven't been able to do anything to it. I have spring fever way bad!

Under the heading Embarassing Moments I went to the symphony the other night without noticing I had 2 different shoes on (until I was having drinks later).

How do you make the bed in your teardrop? I have one door. So is it like a bunk bed- do the best you can. Some of the pictures have coverings that look like a coin would bounce. I have a 4" mattress and tried to find a fitted sheet at the store for it. Most of the sheets were for the new deep mattresses. Is there an online source for them?

How everything going? Do you all have cabin fever yet? I just can't wait untill the ice melts off in the mountains so I can go camping and fishing.

Sam: I am with you I just can't wait for summer to start, and yes I feel your embarassment. I have worn a teeshirt inside out and backwards all day untill my friend pointed it out to me.

Peggy: I'm still praying for your and your husbands health to get better and that everything will work out for you both.

That is the only thing I hate about my TD...making the bed....Aeeeeyaaaeyeeee! Kills the back, I tell ya.

The only easy way to do it, is get someone else to do it for you.

Just to make it easy on me, I put on the fitted and top sheets then two quilts, and I sleep between the 2 quilts.

The thing that helped me is I sewed the top sheet to the fitted sheet at the bottom...at least the top sheet won't come out when you try and make the bed.

You people make your beds!?!! Actually, I do similar to Mary K, but with a sleeping bag on top of the quilt. Helps insulate against the cold air mattress I have. Sleeping bag can either be folded across the foot of the bed in the morning, or shoved in the blanket chest.

I bought 2 full size and 1 queen size flat sheet. I sewed the 2 full sized ones together as though I were making a pillow case. I slipped my 6" fake down mattress cover in it and I don't worry about having the sides creep off like a fitted sheet does. I put this on top of my 4" foam mattress and I sleep like a baby. It's not hard to make the bed...just tuck it in on both sides and be done with it.

Hi gals. I made a mattress cover from some cheap upholstery fabric. I cut one piece the size of the top and 4 pieces of a matching color that became the sides. After about a week of cursing the tiny sewing machine I got from my sister-in-law, getting thread all tangled up, breaking and having to replace the needle, starting over several times, etc. I finally got the pieces sewed together. (Did I mention that I can't sew for squat?) Then I just folded the fabirc under on each corner and fastened it with velcro - just like wrapping a Christmas present. Last I took strips of elastic and went across both side to side and top to bottom to keep it taut, also attached with velcro. Tip: don't use the self-adhesive velcro. I thought that would be an easy way to place it where I wanted it when I fitted it, but the sticky stuff gunks up the needle and thread making a big mess. Anyway, now we have a permanent mattress cover that is both fashionable and durable. We just sleep under blankets that can be folded to the foot of the bed or stored under it. Very simple for us and the bed always looks nice and neat for when "visitors" want to peek in and have a look. MJ

Oh yeah...I forgot about the queen size sheet. I do use it on top and tuck it under the main mattress and I haven't had a problem with it coming out. I also tuck the quilt under the main mattress, at the foot. I don't care if the sheets get wrinkled...I'm camping.

I was teasing ya.

By the time I wrap both queen size quilts around the bottom and sides of the mattress, there is so much under the mattress, my feet hit the bottom of the cabinets and i stub my toes in my sleep.
