the greatest movie line ever...

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Ahh, not in the realm of movie greatness, but great Simpson's lines abound..

Some of my favs...

"I don't think women and seamen mix, sir." (Smithers, the King Kong halloween episode, explaining why Marge shouldn't be on the boat)

"Ohh... I can tell you haven't had eight children!" (Apu, said to the "squishy lady")

Not from a movie but a play--Richard Sheridan's 'School for Scandal.' Applies equally well to Democrats and Republicans: "Sir Oliver, we live in a damned wicked world, and the fewer we praise the better."

Young Frankenstein
Igor: Dr. Frankenstein...
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: "Fronkensteen."
Igor: You're putting me on.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, it's pronounced "Fronkensteen."
Igor: Do you also say "Froaderick"?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No...”Frederick."
Igor: Well, why isn't it "Froaderick Fronkensteen"?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: It isn't; it's "Frederick Fronkensteen."
Igor: I see.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: You must be Igor.
[He pronounces it ee-gor]
Igor: No, it's pronounced "eye-gor."
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: But they told me it was "ee-gor."
Igor: Well, they were wrong then, weren't they?

When that movie came out on TV, I immediately considered it beneath a continuous watch---but after several interrupted airings I finally got the whole thing a piece at a time. Finally I sat down and had an uninterrupted watch, and I came to the conclusion. I've seen worse movies---a lot worse.

Life's a garden--Dig it?

But Young Frankenstein has so many good lines it's hard to single one out--although I'll try----

Yes, I did read something of that incident when I was a student, but you have to remember that a worm... with very few exceptions... is not a human being.

I always laugh when I watch Young Frankenstien when he lifts the buxum blonde off of the hay wagon, while he is looking at the huge, steel rings on the double doors and exclaims "Look at those huge knockers" to which she replys, "Oh, thank you Doctor"

:) ;) ...........R
