Gage's Glasspar

Hey Gage, I saw a pic of your glasspar some time ago in another thread while passing by. I'm a bit of a boat nut myself. Have you made any headway with getting that sea worthy? And, of course, have you any more eye candy (pics). I may eventually end up with a Uniflite of about the same design in the next while. Just curious to see what shape your glasspar is in now.

Oops, you mean this one?

I thought I answered this a couple of nights ago. But apparently I hit the Preview button and not the Submit button. Well as you can see, not much has been done. I have got it somewhat cleaned out and a large hole cut in the floor to get to the bilge in the cabin. Just to much going on and it's kind of down at the bottom of the list of 'Things to do'.

that thing has beautiful lines.... When it makes it further up the list, I'd love to watch the progress. Keep us entertained when you get a round tuit. :)

Are you having to replace the floor, stringers, transom? Or is much of it salvageable?

The transom is solid ( :ok: ) and the stringers/bulkheads up front also look good. I cut the floor because when I got it home, I jacked up the nose and then it drained for about 15 minutes. I'm thinking all rain water being how it was outside with no cover for who knows how many years. So far I think all I'll have to do is make up a secondary floor/hatch that will be removable to cover the oversize holes I'm putting in it to check the inner hall. Every so often I sand and scrape on the exterior removing paint. I guess I could use Oven-off but don't know what that would do to the jell coat. I do the sanding and scraping when I get bored with every thing else I'm doing. Just about got my truck finished. I keep coming up with things I want to do or add to it. $>

Thanks Mary K. The truck doesn't look like that any more. Well it kind of looks like that. It's now 3" lower, has a new bigger engine (or should I say gas hog) Power steering, power disk breaks (front) and what else? Oh, I ordered new tires for it tonight. $200 each. :? Then next year, I'll be adding AC. Oh and because I lowered it a bit, I'm putting some Gabriel Air Shocks on the rear to help with my 150# tongue weight of both of my trailers.

Gage, during one of my senior moments, I can't remember if I told you about a great forum/website that is exclusively for fiberglass boats. If you are interested, you can check it out here: www.Fiberglassics.com

That is a nice looking cuddy you have, there are pics of some like it that have been restored on the site. They also have a Calif chapter that is quite active in the southland.
Roly. ;) once a Glasspar owner, was hopeful restorer, now reluctant seller.
