Retro your TD with "Moon" hubcaps...

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

I stand corrected. :worship:

I have always seen "moons" in the form of the shiney chrome caps that bulge out -- like chrome moons. It seems that Mooneyes made a few different Moon caps and covers. Yours are the Moon Wheel Discs, and mine are called Moon "Spacers".

Here is a link to the Mooneyes Store.

I'm afraid the full chrome would overpower the look of my teardrop, but the trim rings might be about right. ;)

Mine do cover the whole rim, with a small hole for the VS to poke through. There are smaller caps than just cover the "hubs" that I believe are called "Baby Moons".

I originally wanted to get a set of classic red car rims, and put Baby Moons on them, but saved a lot of money by puttin a Moon full wheel cover over my existing white wheels.

There are some really cool alternatives from Mooneyes at the link in my last post.

CD, me too. I aways think of the big spun aluminum "Moons". Man I was hoping I wasn't dis illusioned all these years.
I picked the full moons cause I like the aluminum look for my teardrop. The shiney baby moons look great too.

Nice find. Thanks for the link.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

You could just paint them & use some beauty rings & center caps.
The impossable just takes longer & cost more.

Back to the original post. They're nice but I kind of like mine a little more. The other ones just look a little blaw. ;)

Does anyone know if the ones from Hubcap Mike will fit over the EZ-Lube fitting on the dexter axles? I would love to get some if they will fit. I really want to cover the white rims without having to paint them.

Amy: I just ordered 2 of the moon caps from Hubcap Mike to go on 15" white spoke trailer wheels. I have a Dexter axle with EZ-Lube fittings. So, I when I get them, I will let you know if they fit.

Hey...I am glad somebody brought this back up. I was looking to get a center cap and beauty rings, but I like this look much better, but will it cover the red and blue strips on the rim?

They should. I did a check on this very thing a couple of weeks ago for someone else. I believe the only difference between the cap I have and those sold by Hupcap Mike is the flipper that is on mine. Here's a couple of pics. Oh, I might add, my dexter came with short spindles which may or may not make a difference.

Thanks guys. RTP when you get the caps, let us all know if they work. I really want to cover up those white rims and the blue and red stripes. :)
Thanks for the photos Gage, it looks like they might just work. :applause: And they look really nice.
