Hi Ladies

Is it spring time yet. Over here in NM it's warm but windy so no point in camping in a tent untill the winds go away. And besides my favorite spot Fenton Lake (pond) is still frozen over in the mountains.

I changed my avatar to match. I just can't wait for it to thaw out over there. :worship:

Heres wishing you all a Merry Monday.

I went camping again this weekend! I had to be out of the house anyway while people came to look at it. If I'm home, I'll just mess it up!

I have had two offers on my house and it's only been on the market for just over 2 weeks (sure feels like longer tho)...Both offers were a little low, so I countered back. Hopefully, one of them will come back where I need them to be.

I'll keep you posted!!

We were in Homestead, FL last week for a week's vacation but we didn't bring the Inkwell. You wouldn't believe the terrible tearing of our hearts to leave the trailer at home. The cost of gas held us back from taking the trailer, especially since tax day is close at head.

Since returning home I can't wait to go camping. I've thought about taking the trailer on Wednesday morning out to a campsite and then returning home, attend mid week service at church (hubby is kinda expected to be there. :) and after the service going to the campsite for the night. Paul's day off is Thursdays, normally we work on the trailer on that day but with his hand injury he can't do much. Although I did come up with a neat idea for the tiny shelves that will be displaying the inkwell collection. Some of you might recall that I'm collecting Scrabble tiles for a beaded curtain to our closet, well, I received an old set that included three of the holders. I'm going to cut them down into three sections each and fasten them to the wall and the bottom of the 2"x2" shelf. I think these will work well and keep with the Victorian Writer's Den theme.

Anyone else feeling a strong urge to camp?

Yes Lynn I am ready. I finished new liners for the baskets in the galley. I stained and glued our "front door" name plate. Now I am ready to start sanding the tear and paint it. Bought the paint so I am ready. I am very excited to see how this turns out. I am not going to do vehicle paint now. I have discovered this DTM (direct to metal) paint that goes on with a roller! It is going to be so much easier. I will post pics of course. Just waiting for better weather. I want it done (decals and all) for the DAM gathering May 1st.

MJ,
I really like the clean lines of your upholstery idea! Who care about the underside but thanks for showing it. It looks great.

Now if I can find the power cord to my sewing machine....I lost the one for my firestorm cordless drill so I gave up down and bought another one - haven't gone to the sewing machine store to see if they have any... see talking out loud helps me see the obvious. Now where is the sewing machine store.

Ladies:

Not long ago I posted about my losing my friend and neighbor, Yola, to cancer (started in her breast). Well, today I got bad news again. My daughter-in-law's mom, Alexis, has breast cancer. Alexis is 51 with 3 kids, her youngest is 12. She is like a sister to me...actually better than a sister...couldn't ask for a better in-law. She hasn't had a mamogram in 4 years...went to the doctor on March 30th (I think) and found lumps, not one but 4. This Tuesday they did a biopsy and removed a lymph node. Well, they informed her today that her left breast was full of cancer. Her doctor told her that they have no choice but to remove the left breast, possibly the right too. She will start chemo and radiation on Tuesday. She hasn't told her boys yet. You see, the kids dad died 8 years ago at age 39 from an aneurism. How do you tell your kids that your mom is getting ready to fight one hell of a fight for her life?

That's really tough, you are a good friend to love her so. That's going give her strength. Have you seen the movie "Beaches" with Bette Midler? Also the interview with the professor with pancreatic cancer was very sad and the wife showed great strength.
The story on TV last weekend was - THE LAST LECTURE he als has a book

Becca,
I'm sorry to hear about your friend and her family situation. Thankfully Breast Cancer is now one of the most common to completely heal from. I'll be praying for your friend and her family.

Do what you want with this but I feel the urge to pass you the info / link anyway. I've used it and dealt with HHA 8 years now.

"Essiac, given its name by Rene Caisse ("caisse" spelt backwards), consists of four main herbs that grow in the wilderness of Ontario, Canada. The original formula is believed to have its roots from the native Canadian Ojibway Indians."

Make the tea from the 4 herbs, forget the tea bags, extract or caps. The Canadian Govt determined this works, the American govt determined it works. Universities determined it works. All of them agree it IS a cure for cancer. Cancer is big money, that's why the Canadian Ministry destroyed her records when she died (they even outlawed St Johns Wort for depression), why books on it are confiscated, Dr's who praise it threatened. To this very day.
There's much more in depth info on essiac and there are skeptics of course but how long has natural healing been around and worked? Herbs, dancing, drumming, shaman. These have been around since man himself. Allopathic medicine is awesome but they're 200+- years old. Dog

Becca, our prayers as always. I will second the Essiac. My father in law took it for 5 years when they told him he would die of prostate cancer. He got tired of it and quit. Wasn't the best decision I think.

Arthur, Your on the list too bud, our prayers and best wishes. That is tough. You might look into some Essiac too. Seems like the C word is running rampant through this country. Maybe we all need a change and some herbs.

Becca and Arthur I am so sorry and of course you are in my prayers. Going through this with my dad right now with his bladder cancer. nothing more to be done. hospice will make sure he is in no pain but it could go on for months. I believe that there is a reason for everything and we just have to trust in the Lord. Hard as it is someone will learn something from each of our trials.

I will put pics of the baskets and name plate on when I do pics of the painting. Soon as it drys out I am outside today to start the sanding. I am so excited!!!!!
