Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think we are going to make some wooden frames, grove them down the center with the tablesaw and use plexiglass for the window. Kinda like a picture frame. Cheap and it fits in with the teardrop theme. I just ordered a new biscuit joiner so, when it comes in, I'll post some pics of the finished windows. And yes, I used the TD as an excuse to buy new tools.

Good job, I meen on the excuse. I plan to get some new tools to if I can talk my mom into them, kinda high priced. And yes she does trust me with tools. I build like crazy here, I just built a new 4x18 rabbit hutch that connects to a 4x8 hutch inside my shed. Good luck on your windows, bye

Are you sure about using the plexiglass?

It will fade and crack. You will be replacing every couple of years. You would be better off upgrading with what Grant has to offer or fingsing something used out of a wrecking yard.

Plexiglass is a soft material that will scratch easy, too.

You might try Lexan (from Lowe's or HD). I built a truck cap five yrs ago, the windows are still bright and shiny. Think the literature said it was 10 times stronger than regular glass and it was relatively easy to work with.

This time though, I'm gonna be bolting some of Grant's windows in my tear. A little less fabrication time will put me on teardrop time sooner.

Got the windows from Grant this week and I gotta say they look great. Very weatherproof and durable, easy operation and looks like they'll be easy to install as well.

This might be a dead thread being 6 years old an all, but I've been trying to use the search feature and not finding any info, and I can't find a better place to ask this...

What about using shed windows? They're made of safety glass, they're much cheaper, and they fit the old theme of making TDs from stuff you have, not from purpose built materials.
