I just didn't know the answer to your last question. You're gonna have to catch Kerry again in the morning.
Just make sure and save your spreadsheet.
Oh, right, Office 07.....use that round windows button up top to find "save"
It took me a while to figure that out....duh. :?

Almost forgot, want to explain this a bit more. Don't know how to lock it or even keep what I've got so far??? :)

Hope I can explain this so you understand:

1 - Click on the cell you want to lock
2 - On the top menu select 'Format' then 'Cells'
3 - Click the 'Protection' tab on the popup window
4 - Click the 'Locked' box then follow the directions below it

To protect worksheet: (directions in case you missed them)

1 - Click the 'Tools' button on the top of the page then select 'Protection' then 'Protect Worksheet'
2 - Check the 'Protect Worksheet and contents of Locked cells'
3 - Then select the 'Select unlocked cells' and the 'Insert Rows' boxes
4 - Hit 'OK'

If it will not let you enter your data after doing this, then you have to go back to the cells that you want to input stuff into and make sure they are unlocked. You can highlight a whole section at a time to do this.

Actually you best be would be to select the whole worksheet and unlock all of the cells, then go back and just lock the ones with the formulas and then protect the worksheet.

When you put the cursor over a cell, if it has a formula, it will show up after the 'fx' in the space to the right.

EDIT: it will start with an '=' if it is a formula.

Don't do it the hard way let the computer do the work!

Excel column 1 initials
column 2 amount
enter as the sales come and at the end of the sale
click the a/z button this will alphabatize based on row 1
next insert a line immediatly after the last listing for each vendor and hit the autosum button and show it which cells to add.
Do this for each vendor you are done
Growing older but not up !
