Lady Tear Droppers, drop in and say "Hello"!

This is where the gals can have their very own discussions...

Postby AmyH » Sun Apr 20, 2008 11:00 pm

Hey there gals, I haven't posted here in a while, but thought I would check in.

Eunice, great job on the fenders!! They are going to look fantastic!

Peg, that hatch is looking great! I can't wait to get mine installed as well.

Gaelen, congrats! That is fantastic news, and it is really nice to see you back on the board. Hang in there and keep your spirits up.

Hope everyone else is doing great. We had some crazy spring weather up here in tne NW. We had snow!!! That hasn't happened here at this time in April since 1972, according to the newspaper! Crazy! I am hoping all the nice veggie seeds I planted will make it, since I just put them in the ground last weekend. :worship:

Take care everyone.

Hey Galen,

It's good to hear from you. I'm glad the surgery was a success. I'll be praying the chemo does the final battle and you'll stay cancer free forever.

OK, girls -- ya'll have been doing great things.
I wanted to share my lame attempts at carpentry, give me a jig saw and tight budget and I'm dangerous!

I don't have any misconceptions that my tear is a professional model so I can't do real damage, right AND I am having a great time putzing with it.

I replaced the air conditioner and want to put a cabinet in front of it.

There was a really low and deep shelf over the foot area - I cut it in half and made "doors" that slide. During the day they will be on either side covering up storage leaving the center area open. At night my dog Maggie can sleep in the center area and if she won't stay I can slide the doors so she can breathe but not get down.

BTW, the shelf box on the right is removable and 2 of me could stand on it! I may use it somewhere else- maybe to carry rocks.

You need to put the image tags before and after each picture url. If you click the quote button in this post you can see what I did.

BTW - nice job!!

Rich,
hmmm- I don't remember doing the quote thing the first time but I get it.

I love the fact that ya'll can appreciate all levels of ability!

And I still have all my fingers but I had one heck of a splinter. Thought it was a nothing but after a week I had to do an extraction. Note to self - add first aid kit to tear.

No, no, no....you don't need to quote anything. ;) I just told you to do that so you could see how I changed your url's to show up in your post. ;)
Whenever you hit the quote button in a post you can see how it was written rather than what shows up on the screen. 8)

Hey ladies! I've been avoiding the site for a little while. I've been bummed that I can't make it to the Bryce Canyon gathering in May. I've been looking forward to it since September, but now my parents are coming here for a visit that week. I just didn't have the heart to tell my mother I had other plans on Mother's Day...

Becca and Arthur and Eunice, my thoughts are with you.

Gaelen, I'm so glad for you! I was wondering how you were doing.

I just preordered Lynn's new book, Florida Weddings, it goes on sale May 1st.

I rolled the Turtle out, and took her to UBC for sheetrock for the house. It snowed, and when I popped the door to check for water there was very little inside; I think I got most of the leaks now. On the down side, I put too much sheetrock in there and busted my back shelf.

New Girl

Postby Upsided0wnDucks » Tue Apr 22, 2008 4:11 pm

Hi Everyone! Well I'm new to the forums and Mandy invited me to this thread! I can't believe I hadn't seen it already because I've been looking around here for a while now, but sometimes you miss what's right there. My name is Krista, and I go by Ducks online, I posted my hello in the newbies section and it's kind of long, so I won't repost but thought I'd say hello in here. I don't own a tear drop but am thinking of having one custom made. My next post will be in the Wanted section of the site! You ladies have fun!

:o Oh Sam, I am sorry about your shelf. Perfect chance for a chance to play in some more sawdust.

Mandy the small fish don't know me and they were biting. Hard to commune with biting creatures.

Welcome to the Lady's thread Krista. Always nice to have newbies here.

Hey Sam, Thanks!

I received my author copies (10) on Tuesday. One of the other authors in that collection, Kristy Dykes is battling brain cancer. Doc's didn't give her much time but she's already gone passed the time they gave her. We had planned on doing booksignings around the state of Florida but with her out of commission, I didn't bother booking signings at stores. I probably should but...oh well, it's a hard decision.

Bummer about the Turtle's shelf but I'm sure you can fix it.

OK ladies I posted pictures of The Hill House but I hit new topic instead of post reply so it is in the General Discussion section and not here. The pictures are also in my album. It isnt perfect but I am very pleased with my self. I cant believe all that I learned. Got to give a big hand to my husband for all his help. He did all the heavy icky stuff. That just makes it our teardrop. Cant wait until Thursday to leave for the DAM gathering at Lake Shasta. thanks for all the support.
BTW my dad is hanging in there. He is so weak he is sleeping most of the time now. It is hard to watch him just sort of fade away but I am so grateful that so far there is no pain. I pray that it ends before the pain comes.

Eunice,
Sorry about your Dad. Just remember you may think he doesn't know you are there tbut he can still hear. Even if he doesn't say anything you can still talk to him.

I think your TD looks great. I did wonder why you didn't have it on this topic since you have been showing us your progress. How did you do your graphics? Did you free-hand them or use a stencil?

I'm impressed with it! :applause:

Eunice, Sorry to hear about your Dad. Yes I hope he does not have any pain, don't need to suffer with more pain. Too bad he wasn't able to beat the cancer.
