Hi!

Welcome to the forum!!!

As Jerry said, light weight is possible.... mine weighs 750# empty. It is a 5X8. I used 1/4" walls covered with oak veneer, 3/4" floor and no insulation. I will be adding the insulation this year. Camping in the winter in Colorado gets a little cold.... but I still will keep the weight down.... check out the pic's in my album, last year I put 9,000 miles on it and anticipate at least that if not more this year!!!

Enjoy your build! Keep us in mind, with pictures! lots of pictures!!!

Pam, I love the idea of having a little doorway into the galley from the bed, very clever! I might "borrow" that idea too...

Welcome Sawyer to the best  forum on the internet. I live just above you in Lapine and I know what you have to go through with all that rain. We don't have much rain, but lots of snow.. Hope to see you at the Dam gathering and you don't have to bring a teardrop, just come for the fun, and believe me there is alot of fun to be enjoyed.

Wedding Bells @ IRG

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Sun Apr 27, 2008 11:02 am

Hi Sawyer & Fiancee,

Welcome to the forum. Oh boy, oh boy, we could have something special for you and your sweetie come this summer at the IRG. I plan "other sorts" of events......should I bring the BIG dutch oven for a wedding celebration?? Yes, you could get married in one. For those who attended the '06 IRG we had fun "marrying off" a couple who said their vows in a 22 inch DO. So, when is your intended date?? Think of the time we could have with this one folks!!

Also, just bring the silly pictures of the folks to the IRG where we can all have a good laugh looking at them. Keep in touch, Sawyer, and let me know by PM if there is anything I can do to make your time at the IRG a 'special one'

TDN (great name by the way!),

That is a wonderful offer, and it sounds like a blast, but I think I'd be in the doghouse if started changing wedding plans now! We are getting married on July 31st of '09, to give us plenty of time to save and plan for the shindig. The guest list has already broken 400, and we're still working on it...

Anyhow, I truly hope we can both make it to IRG, whether or not we'll be finished with the TD yet, it looks like it's going to be a pretty major event!
