Me too, McMaster Carr. They sell 2-3 different kinds. There is one specifically for exterior use that is UV tolerant. Order what you need.

They have a store just down I-20 and I can call in an order and have it the next day UPS. Just too easy And now the UPS shipping is cheaper than driving over

I swore off credit cards back in the 90's it makes ordering things kinda difficult with only having cash and paypal but overall i still maintain that it was a wise decision on my part.


if this centiflex would work in an exterior application on a galley door (like the pic posted above this then i am interested. i will need 4 feet of it just wanted the extra just in case.

edit just looked them up.. they do look like some nice hinges but might be a little bit out of my price range.

2" wide at Mcmaster Carr's gonna run you 5.38 per foot + shipping. Comes in 4' 8' and 25' lengths.

8" minimum purchase for a 5' length would be $40 + dollars

I wouldn't use it for a door myself after using it for a hatch a couple of years ago. I've contemplated it several times and just like the job the stainless piano hinges do. The door with its verticle load would always be pulling at the top and pushing at the bottom because of the weight of the door and the plastic is rather flexible. I guess on some teardrops it wouldn't matter much.

I'm using it for my door hinges with no problems(so far...6months)...I use a piece of 3/4x1/16 AL strap over the top of it as a "washer" and place a screw every couple of inches...without the flat strap, the plastic has a tendency to "pucker" between screws...this applies, whether it is vertical, horizontal, flat or upright.........
