Digital TV broadcasting is coming.

Anything electric, AC or DC

Thanks to both of you.

The TV was bought last fall from Wal-Mart, but the antenna is probably 30 years old. I think it is capable for UHF, but being as old as it is, I think wise money would buy a new one. And your information fits what I was pretty sure of, but I didn't really know the details.

I studied TV Servicing waaaay baaack when but I really never worked in the industry. And this development caught me with my pants down. I had not followed the developments for several years. My interests have been in computers and mostly in machine logic controllers

Now I have some meat to give her. I can high tech talk to her and she will just have to believe me.

I used to use rabbit ears on a little portable analog TV and I always got interference radio signals from CB's, trains, airplanes, etc. When I got a new digital TV, I found that they make inexpensive digital rabbit ears so I bought a set. As promised, I no longer get the bleed through! I live in a valley, surrounded on three sides by mountains; but, I still can get half a dozen TV stations with just the digital rabbit ears. (Ironically, the one TV station I have trouble getting is the one where there is no mountain to block signals!) I'm told that my remaining analog TV, in the house, will not need a converter box because it is hooked up to a cable company.

If you want to watch TV while you're camping, I'd watch for a good deal on a small LCD set and buy the digital rabbit ears and be done with it.
