trailer

Postby willif51 » Mon May 05, 2008 1:34 am

I have sold my trailer - in the first week it was offered for sale. The overall response from those who came to look was that it is built very solid and the attention to detail is incredible.
So...I guess I did just breeze in here and sell, how was it put by that crude man, oh, yes, "a heap of wood and scratched metal". Perhaps those posting on this forum should be kinder to newcomers and not berate and belittle them for not showing what you want to look at. This is, after all, the "for sale" area and should be used by those looking to purchase. This should not be a forum for 'ol boys club retired folks with nothing better to do with their time than put down the ideas and hard work of others. I hope you people can change your ways and attract more people to the hobby. Have you ever wondered why everyone at teardrop gatherings are over 50? The attitudes expressed in these postings is the reason. Noone young enough to have other things to do wants to be around you people.
Why not try to change?

Madjack, you forgot to add that she also hasn't been to too many gatherings. I just got back from one in which there were about 70 teardrops and about 15 others and I would say that better than half were under 50, but not to many in their early 20's.

P.S. Hope she got a good deposit for it.

Oh, now she's all indignant about it. Didn't spend much time looking around to see all the women that are on this forum did she. Where did she spend $3,800? What did it sell for? Who cares, good riddance she's gone!

I stand by my statements.

By the way, I'm 44, retired by injury, finish carpenter and cabinet maker by trade (25+ years) and have never been able to go to a gathering yet.
Funny thing is that I do not own a teardrop at this time, the material cost me to much to build one.

This is a family site or I'd light you up but good! What a ........
Good thing I did let my wife reply

You mean you went from those pictures to a completed trailer in a week? I highly doubt that you were able to address any details in that timeframe. What, with 2 toddlers and going to school fulltime (at my alma mater I'm guessing) I'm suprised you found the time.

I'll just be blunt. If you ask for opinions and don't like what you hear, don't get mad. You initiated the whole thing. You also never answered anyone as to how you spent $3800 (at the time) on an an unfinished 4X8 trailer.

Yeah, it's been quite a car wreck. I was hoping to see if she did get it finished since no final photo was produced.

The strange thing was this add was put up almost at the same time:

It's still there.

I love this place, another teardrop story with a happy ending. It would be a sad old world without a lot of good ol' boys.
