Replacing roof on tiny trailer

O.K. So I got the trailer home. And now 2 weekends into it, I have it completly gutted. I got a couple of pleasent surprizes. There is a fairly new water pump it it and a 20 gallon water storage tank that I didn't see when I first inspected it.
However the roof needs major work. It will be an easy job but I want it to last. I would like to just replace it instead of repairing it. It looks to be the original courragated sheet metal. Don't know if it is aluminum or stainless but it is only about 30 guage at best. Very thin. I want to replace it with a good product with out breaking the bank. I am not looking for the "cheapest" but something in the middle. If it is wood with a waterproofer or back to thin metal. I can work both media. What have you experimented with and list pros and cons of both.

Don't know all the details but re-sheathing it and using a Rubber Roof is a good choice.





The rubber should cost you about $20-25 a running foot with glue (through an RV dealer).

Its white...reflects heat and comes with a warranty.

I use this stuff;



I really like it, its available at any RV dealer. Its called a "insert molding" outside corner. Its a little salty ($40-50 for a 16' length) But it looks great, bends easy and if done right (as long as the rubber laps over the edge, and a putty tape is used) it won't leak.

I too would recomend the EPDM rubber roof with the insert molding to finish the edges. I have replaced the roofs on several rigs that have been left out in the sun for years without any protection or roof treatment and the life seems to be about 12-15 years in these conditions. The membrane reflects heat and also absorbs noise, so I think this would be a plus in a small space.
