We need the rain that everyone is getting. My pea patch is needing the water, but when it comes it will probably flood. Such is Mother Nature.

As Gary mentioned, most of the damage in the KC area was on the MO side. Nobody seriously injured from what I heard on the TV/Radio. Typical of tornadoes however, many houses and businesses were seriously damaged and, just next store, nothing.

I grew up in Chicago and, except for the weekly Tuesday morning siren test, (sirens went off once at 11 PM in 1959 when the Sox took the AL pennant, that scared the shite out of the population - height of the cold war and all that), I have never heard a siren used for its intended purpose. Very scary. Plus, I live about 500 yards from the nearest siren. Whenever it spun in my direction it rattled my apartment. Definitely got my attention.

Arkansas got clobbered again. Eight people lost their lives in a series of tornados that spanned many different areas.
I think Hap lives pretty close to one of the paths. Nobody also lives in an area that was close to another tornado path.
Eddie, Marshal Arkansas has received over 31 inches of rain since March 1st.
Macy and I just got torrential rain and a few downed limbs.

The early storms at around 7pm completely missed my area, sirens going off but it was dead calm outside. Later on it got very windy and heavy rain. Lost a couple of large tree branches but otherwise all is well.

We 'dodged the bullet' again here . Storms to our west, south, & SE yesterday but nothing close. Missed our Grandaughter's house by a mile or so. Some of the areas (or nearby) that got hit in February also got it again yesterday (Conway, Cleburne, & Van Buren counties). Think Hap lives up in either Cleburne or Van Buren County? Didn't hear much about any bad stuff in NW Arkansas near ARKPAT. Storms in the area where DiverGuy lives but haven't heard any reports of damage there,

Larry, I'm curious about your avatar. Is that the Peel Ferry on Bull Shoals (last operating public ferry in Arkansas) or perhaps one from somewhere else?

Glad you guys had no problems with the storem.
The picture is the Elswell Ferry across the Cape Fear river in North Carolina.
Last summer we were at a revolutionary battle field in North Carolina. It was our last day of the trip and I punched in HOME on the portable nav system and she took us down three or four country roads then announced: "Prepare to stop at the Ferry". We were very shocked but I considered it the best part of our trip. It is a two car ferry. Just big enough for the truck and TD.

Hi gang, The storm was close to us but all we got was 4 inches of rain in about 2 hours. I am told the sirens went off but we can`t hear them here.
And the power was off for 12 hours. Lots of downed lines.I am happy to report there was no damage here.

Glad to here you are ok.
The weather here has been strange too. Everything is late. Cool and rainy. The trees are finially starting to bud out like they were a month ago at Beavers Bend. Farmers are getting worried, too wet to get in the fields.

Otherwise, all is well. Great camping weather to come.

I too was in Canton --up on the mountain. We were sitting on the porch of the Blue Bonnet Inn B&B watching the wind. I started having a severe allergic reaction - swollen lips and numb mouth. Sirens were going off and rumors of deaths. I was sure the helicopters were bringing the wounded and dead to the ER. One of my group called her DR. daughter in Kerrville for a script and 2hrs. later I had some medicine. and no ER stop . Turns out no one was killed only turned over vehicle and a tree down with several building rumbles.

Hey Pat, did you guys make it. Sounds bad. We had lots of pea size hail but got real lucky. The tornado that tore up Pitcher OK ducked South of us. Made an extreme mess.

Oh my goodness!!!! The towns of Picher, OK and Haywood, OK and Miami OK area and all the way up towards Joplin, MO got slammed with tornadoes last night and they are still trying to confirm 19 deaths .
This is north of the Grand Lake area, right up by the KS border (if you remember we camped at Bernice S.P. at Grand Lake before)

I hope Catoosa Grani and Gene didn't get any problems.. Catoosa is a bit east of Tulsa .

And I'm so glad that me and my tent camping friends didn't go to Lake Tenkiller !!!! The storms dotted south to McAlester and the worst damage was just 100 miles north of where we would've been camping !!!!! ACK !!!!
