Jim, my "mystery companion" will be teaching so she won't be able to be there.

In fact, Madison is out too since school will be in session on August 13 this year.

Thanks for asking.
Maybe she'll magically appear again at Salamonie.

School on Aug. 13?? When do they start July? Growing up on Lon Guyland school always started the Wednesday day after Labor Day WE. Labor Day seemed to be the unofficial end of summer. Too bad she will miss all the fun, and the FOOD.

It's now time for you to wave your magic weather wand and produce a beautiful weekend. 8) 4 days and counting.

That doesn't look too bad. A "few showers" is OK. I just hope we don't have a rain event like we had yesterday.

This weather prediction model is usually fairly accurate. I like what I see for Saturday.

This mornings forcast is showing partly cloudy for Friday and Saturday, no mention of rain, and temps in the mid 60's and low of 50 at night. Perfect camping weather in my book. Kurt never fails us.

Better get my TD out of the barn and make sure it is ready. 3 days to go.

Not again

I better check mine  I'm using a different tow !

Gonna use my big Jeep Grand Wagoneer shouldn't use much more than $100.00 in gas.

Yes again, I've learned a lot in a year shouldn't be much to figure out.

I'll have 2 vehicles down there I'm coming down Friday a.m. and Amy is coming down after work Friday night.

I bought a new ride and a tow vehicle for the teardrop. I still have the 1965 Mustang and the 2001 Escape but since I'm retiring in August, I thought I deserved a new car. (probably my last one).
I bought a new Escape 2008) and I really like it so far. Great milage, quite, nice power, tow package, etc.

Only problem happened last weekend. I hooked upthe tear and found that the lights didn't work. Sound familiar?? I took it back to the dealer service group who discovered that the "relays" for the tow package weren't installed. This should have been done in dealer prep (I guess). The problem has been solved and now I think I'm ready to roll.

I have gone thru the check list:

Projector - for Movie night.
AV cables to hook it up
Dutch Ovens & waffle iron.
Cooking things and utensils.
Coffee & filters
Fire Irons
I'll do a final grocery shopping Wednesday night to pick up the fixin's for Jambalaya, breakfasts, waffle mix, and, of course Hot Dogs. I really like Nathan's Famous dogs. These are available in local stores (finally). Last time I had these was 31 years ago in New Jersey. It makes camping fun.

I hope everyone is ready. Scott, Bob, Dan and I have spent some good times on preparing a gathering that will be fun ("rain or shine").

Everyone needs to be careful getting to the gathering so we can all enjoy "the good times" while we are there.

I'm pumped (does it show?)

Weather is "iffy" but we'll still have fun no matter what. ;)

Have a safe trip and be prepared. :applause:

Wonder if Buffalo Grove has wifi?---if so perhaps a webcam could be set up to provide live streaming of the events to those not there. From the freezer weekend in January I noticed the campsites aren't all that far from the rangers station (Jack Sprague Cabin?) and if they use a wifi router for their internal communication perhaps it could be appropriated for the good of America & teardroppers in spirit everywhere---at least for this weekend.

Unfortunately my laptop is lacking, and I really don't feel like lugging the PC to Nashville. But if someone is umbilically attached to their laptop (& streaming wifi) could be a Samaritan.

Jes a think
