Rebecca: What have you been up to lately?

Peggy: How's everything going over there?

Lynn: What a bummer that you got the inkwell done and you can't take it out cause of gas prices. I feel your pain.

Aunti M: Here's to wishing you success on the floor removal.

Fireaunt: Hi done anywork on the trailer?

MK: Where ya been hiding?

 Me too. Great color!

Mandy I am draggin my feet on the floor. I can almost stand and hate to loose that. Besides  I have to fix the roof first. It is split and cracked all over. Looks like the plywood was a very thin veneer. Needs a lot of epoxy and p p ppppppaint

But it is so much fun I think I might redecorate every couple of years. :R

Pam ~ Did Shelly sell her house? The Cherry Drop is so cute now, I don't know what you could do to improve it.

Mandy ~ I have been camping but it was a long drive to where we went and I doubt I will drive that far again. Just too long. Also had a problem that I didn't know about until I got to the campground. That Wednesday night while traveling, we hit a piece of disgarded tire (re-tread from an 18 wheeler) and it came up and hit my fender, which bent down very close to the tire. It had black marks all over the fender, which is no biggie but I had to pull the fender nearly off the tire. No damage, just didn't know that had happened. At first Fran thought we had run over a body on the interstate (it was pretty big) :o. Well, it was almost 10:30 p.m., on I-10 and in the middle of nowhere so I wasn't about to go find out...just said a prayer. :worship: When we reached a rest area, I checked for blood (seriously), found none but saw signs of black rubber so I knew what I hit. It is hard to dodge things in the middle of the road when you are pulling a trailer - at night.

Aunti M ~ Are you talking about your Teardrop's roof and floor?

Rebecca: Sorry to hear about the mishap with the tread. We call those tire-gators down here cause if you run into them they grab the axel and mess you up bad. There are a lot of those here in the summer cause the road gets so hot that the 18 wheeler tires blow out.

Hi Becca and all....

Yes. Shelly sold the Colorado Springs house. It was listed 16 days!!!! After closing, she is able to rent it back, until she leaves next week. I thought that was cool... The movers come to pack next Tues and Wed then load on Thurs and they all leave Fri the 30th. She has a contract on a really cool garage with a house in Minot that is supposed to close this week or the first of next week. Says there is enough room to park the Tearscape, her Subaru Baja on one side and have building room on the other!!!! yay!

As for the Cherry Drop, she got some water discoloration on the wood, at the bottom of the hatch (MAKE SURE ALL YOUR EDGES ARE WATER-TIGHT!!!) and at the Hatch hinge (MAKE SURE YOU EITHER USE A HURRICANE HINGE OR RUBBER STRIP AT YOUR HINGE!!!) I'll be painting part of her, while I am re-doing the hinge! I love the wood and will keep as much as I can. Also changing the tail-lights. Mine were the cutest red lenses from my brother's school bus, but the bulb was TOO hot for them, causing them to melt a hole which took on water and blew the bulb. I'll be changing them to LED's.... Also two weeks ago, Shelly built me a shelf for the inside above my feet. I helped but she knows what she's doing so she built it! Thank you Shelly!!!!

I love watching what you all are doing, I get lots of idea's from you!!!

Becca, I'm so glad it wasn't a body!!!! My fenders were first attached too close to my tires and last year on the trip to CA one of the bolts pulled through the side wall of the Tear.... It was okay until I got home and then we moved the fenders up an inch higher, to prevent it from happening again. It's frightenting when something like that happens when you are on the road.... but we all learn from each other....

Later ladies!

My heart goes out to those struggling through different medical problems - just listen to those who have gone through similar events and do what your Dr. tells you. Keep coming by here to watch and listen - I can certainly laugh at myself. Yes, I've been working on my tear. Spent a wonderful Sat night in my driveway--cool and quiet. I spent more than a couple of hours with a little bitty paint brush going over the red paint that bled under the blue tape. Probably just wasn't good paint plus the humidity has been awful. As I was sitting and concentrating on the red and white I could smell the scent of gardenias then the dogs were barking and I got the scent of skunk. A little later out of the corner of my eye I saw solmething which turned out to be a coon. Last night I ran an armadillo off while trying to construct a cover box for the a/c. Even at midnight it is hot and humid! Tonight my hands have blisters from trying and trying and trying to screw those darn little phillip head screws in!! What is the trick? I'm left handed and that could be some of it and the husband's screw driver seemed a little twisted. I am patient but this got to me. I slapped some paint on the new wood and tomorrow I'm gonna get me some mean wood screws!

It may not be the pagent winner but it's got spirit! :)

Good night ladies,

Good Morning Aunti M,
Its drizzling here in Albuquerque, and the temp it curently 48 degrees, which is funny cause on Tuesday we hit 92. :?
I have been getting ready for a dinner that we will be giving for the youngest sister who graduated from HS. So I took out a 23 lbs turkey that I have been saving since Thanksgiving. I left it out over night because I forgot to put it in the fridge. Last night was hot so I left the screen door open. Well this morning I was supprised to find the turkey torn up. The stay cats in the neighborhood broke in through the screen door and got to the turkey!!! Luckly I had saved two turkeys  Just not as big as the first .

Well if I don't laugh I'll cry. So

This is not for the guys--this is a girl thing----

Hinges and screws were invented by man--the devil indeed!

It's almost 3 am and I have been screwing since 7pm. I now have new items to put in my girl tool kit. Even with the electric/cordless drill/srewdriver it took forever to batten down everything. New items needed when attacking said evil hinges and screws is a can of WD-40, rubber jar opener from the kitchen, drill, several phillip screwdrivers and a big bottle of pain reliver.

I almost finished the cover/tongue box to protect the a/c. The DH finally helped. He showed me the trick about WD-40. It really does help. Start the hole with the drill. Then insert the screw and a couple of turns then spray a squirt on the screw - if you are using good wood try some to see if it discolors. Then use the jar opener with the screw driver. I use a surface I can lean over. A technique of both hands on the driver, chin on hands and a little left hip dip motion and your turning those screws.

For the inside I built a headboard with a hinged door to divert the a/c blowing. Oh, yes, that was loads of fun. Had to add some strips to the luan for the hinges/screws to go into. Haven't finished, I have to figure out how to adjust the door. But I can prop a stick there for this weekend.

Just need to get the splinters off the bed and load up all the stuff and we're of to Georgetown TX for Memorial Day. Ya'll have fun. Thanks for letting me vent!
