If you are looking for a vintage trailer in excellent condition, look no further. It was stored in a heated garage, unused for 35 years when we found it 5 years ago. The rear of the trailer has a bed which sleeps two (new mattress) The dinette table drops down to make an extra bed for two. Innerspring dinette cushions are original & have been professionally reupholstered. New countertop, table,& flooring. New tires, & re-packed bearings. Original icebox, hookup for water, 110 electric, storage under bed / dinette & small wardrobe closet. Weight is 1068 lbs dry.
This trailer has always been wintered in a garage. It has NEVER leaked and has no rot issues whatsoever. It also comes with the original canvas awning which works great and has recently been re-proofed. Asking price is $6000. Serious inquiries only.

Hi there, I'm new to the Teardrop world and am a bit confused as to which pictures are of the trailer that you are selling? Can you be more specific as to the photos? I'm interested in possibly purchasing a trailer and I would really like to see more of the one you are selling. Thanks,

Mike- we are kind of downsizing in a way, we just don't need two trailers. It was a tough decision to sell the Metz but one has to go and the FanDrop takes up less room and it really does suit our needs just fine. Besides, there are a lot of things I still want to do to the FanDrop :thinking:

Hi Rick,

I understand getting rid of an extra trailer perfectly...

What I was hoping you could contrast, is the pros and cons of a tin can versus a fandrop...

setup time?
comfort?
effort?
camping versus rving?

We have some folks that are looking to upsize, and what I want to know is, what is the downside to upsizing to something like the Metz?

Mike- There is no downside to owning a trailer like the Metz. It is a small light trailer that tows easily. I have always towed it with nothing bigger
than a V-6 and have towed it through the winding hilly roads of the Adirondacks without a problem.
It really isn't much bigger than a lot of teardrops, the box is 10ft long and about 6'6" wide. You park it, level it, put up your awning and you're done. It really is a lot like TD camping except for the fact that you have a dinette to eat at if you want and a place to get dressed standing up.
It's really just great little vintage trailer that's been well cared for its whole life. We've had lots of fun with it and now it's somebody else's turn.

Most important question.. how high is it? Will it fit in my garage?? Do friends get a discount? :lol:

Seriously though... that is one fine trailer and we will miss seeing you to camping with it.

Maybe Kate and I can 'expand' our trailer collection. After all our ADK storage facility has a TON of room!
Dale would gladly store more toys for us ($$$$'s).

Whoever picks up the Metz is a lucky ducky...

Just told Kate.. she is shocked Rick! (I gave her a hanky).

Our friends that you met at the TearUp last year may be in market (their popup is about done). I'll give her a call and see if she is interested. 1050lbs dry... maybe doable. They don't have large vehicles.

Kate would buy it to keep it in the family if we could.

We considered selling our tear, but are sooo glad we kept it once we moved to our bigger place. Now we have our baby tucked in nicely in the garage and very accessible for emergency camping trips! Maybe we should have bought a home with a 3 car instead of 2 car garage.

Ah man,

I always said if you wanted to sell the Mezy,I would buy it. Well fate handed me several hard blows lately, and I just traded my RAV for a gas sipper. Just my Luck! Trailer sales down our way have stalled. You see them in yards for sale everywhere,and dealers are almost giving them away. The Mez is a treasure though.Good luck !

GB- The Metzendorf is no longer for sale. My wife and I decided that if we were to sell it, we would be kicking ourselves in the ass later on. The FanDrop however is still for sale. (You can see pictures in my album). We have it listed in the Syracuse CraigsList.
I can always build another trailer, but I would never be able to find
another vintage trailer in that shape again.

That is one beautiful trailer. If you lived anywhere close to me, I would of jumped on it the first day. Good decition on keeping it!
