Hey Julie, Uncle Sam will either make a man of you (or woman) or send you home. No children allowed. I glad your son made the most of the experiance. This next phase is a lot less phyiscal and more mental. Then after the schools are all over, the stateside jobs are pretty much like a civilian job in uniform. War zone deployment is a different story. Pray for those in Iraq and Afganistan!! As tough as it is on the families I think a little time with Uncle Sam is good for most people. They "grow up" and understand the USA is truely the best place on planet earth to live. There are lots of fun places to vist but I want to live HERE. ( OK well maybe Hawaii) . OK I'll get off my soap box with one last bit-- Freedom is not Free! Thank you to thse who serve!!

Congrats on your son Julie, he is a fine looking man.

I've been busy with build #1. It won't be ready for LCG but hopefully it will be done by the end of the year. The heat index was 99 yesterday and it was HOT working in the garage. All the fan did was move around the hot air. At least it was shady.

It's going to be a hot summer...

On the road again!

Postby McTeardrops » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:50 am

Leaving on our mammoth trip today; Good Guys Street Rod Nationals this weekend in Indy, Tear Drop gathering at Fish Creek Pond (upstate New York) next weekend; then to Connecticut to see Lenny's family; then possibly stopping at the T-Bucket nationals in Springfield, IL; then stopping by Petit Jean to see y'all Saturday.

Our income tax refund check, economic stimulus check, and summer school teaching salary will all go directly into the gas tank. Oh well, I guess you can't take it with you! Hopefully Jasper will be on (somewhat) good behavior...

Joanne & Lenny

PS - Go to the Northeastern Region and the thread "Tearing up the Adirondacks" , and check out where we're headed. Very peaceful and restful, and cool at night!

Same here Ray! :? :(

You look very proud of your son and I know he must be proud of his mother.

Thank your son for his service to our country and I hope to meet up somewhere camping.
I'm planning LCG III and campsite is paided for; I'm saving up for the travel and gas to make it happen this year. I will not eat anything for the entire week before going and stay in from the sick kids weeks before. ;)

I will have to breakout the Neon ( need a hitch installed to pull the trailer ) for LCG III.

Glad to here from you!
