hello everyone, newest of the newbies here. if you were into teardrops before yesterday, your a veteran compared to me. i'm not new to camping by a long shot being a former marine and combat vet, and boy scout long ago, i've slept under the stars once or twice. also not new to RV'ing, my dad's an airstreamer, i'm helping him rebuild his 63' stream. i was really getting into that and was thinking of getting one of my own. not having a big truck to tow with i was looking at the tiny Bambi's. AND THEN....last night i was channel surfing and saw a rerun of rv crazy and have spent every last minute since online gathering info. i am automatically drawn to the idea of building my own, and love the benroy style of trailer. i think this would be perfect for me and my little girl to spent weekends out-and-about.
yes i am a pirate, 200 years too late

Hi Monk,
I saw the same show a couple of weeks ago. I would love to try building a teardrop but I don't have the space to work on one so I'm looking to buy one instead. Hope you and your little one have a great time building yours. That's what I call quality time with dad!

Hi Monk, looks like you have been bitten badly. Teardropping will fit right into your lifestyle. Check out the various info sites listed above and pick out the shape, size and look that you are looking for. Then, get that trailer frame, put together a fine teardrop and come and join us at our outings. Those TDers are a friendly bunch.

Welcome! Did you see the free set of Generic Benroy plans (at the top of this page) that Mike and others so kindly got together for us? It's the one I'm building, with a few modifications!

No excuses, get building Marine!
I built by first one in an RV park while living in a very nice 59" Boles Aero

Second one in a 10 by 20 storage unit (the manager was a friend), come to think of it, two in the storage unit before finding a "shop" to rent. If you have the space outside just build you a tent wih PVC pipe and plastic

I liked by stay in Jacksonville.

Ive got a Kitchen/Den Benroy in progress right now in Dudley, NC but then I do a lot of work inside my house due to my asthma and the heat and humidity of eastern NC. So I guess I'm used to the mess of a project in the house for months at the time. At least I do my saw cuts outside on my deck. Hope your build goes well and welcome to a super community of people with a shared passion. These guys can answer any question you might have (and most are already answered) and give many options to reach the same goal.

Welcome Monk.
This is a great place to hang out. I think you will enjoy it here.
Sue and I are in NC and I just started our build. I made my first cut yesterday afternoon!
The generic benroy plans at the top of the page are a great source of information. I have read them several times. (Thank you Mike!).
I found it is easier to access the information if you print them out.
Be warned, this teardrop thing can become very addictive.
Best of luck with your build and remember to ask questions if you have them.
