Like I said on an earlier post with the front that way it starts to resemble a creature, and a creature needs a tail. :lol:

I thought I'd try my hand at making a wing on the back like the old Porsche "whale tails" out of fiberglass. The trolley top on the back, the wifey had the idea of making it pop up with canvas sides. :thinking:

Well more baby steps to report...last night I took the frame off of the axles. What a PITA! Can you say RUSTY BOLTS! Anyways the frame is now upside down and waiting for some grinding, sanding, and a little paint. The tandems have several grease zerks, so I'll check that out too, then do any other preventive maintenance on em. Replace those rusty bolts, put it all back together, then start working on the pretty side.

ya could save a little time and convert one of these, maybe if yer lucky, just find one used with a bad frame and swap the shell to your trailer....this one has room for EVERYTHING...

What are they. If I were to guess, I'd say they hold gliders, but that is just a WAG.

Not so wild a guess. I can't imagine them being for anything other than gliders (a.k.a. sailplanes).

Examples:
Shirenewtwon Sailplanes - Trailers
Diana Sailplanes - Trailers
By the way, when these guys say "15 metre" size, they don't mean the trailer is 15m (50 ft) long, they mean it's for a sailplane of that size (wingspan) class.
Some of these even have tandem axles.

So there are other mega-length skinny trailers out there.

Instead of just the corners, you could divide the deck in half and have the front half fold back/up.

I ran the decking all the way to the front on mine, making a V on the tongue for storing stuff. Sure has come in handy. Penny, TX

Ok, I've been thinking again...

Like maybe full lenght of the deck and just a couple feet wide on each side. It would have some kind of fold up adjustable legs for the outside edge. Thing is, I kind of wanted to have a rail around the deck, and with these "fold outs" I'm not sure how to work that out. I could have a removeable rail, but if I keep this up all my trips will have to be at least 3 days...a day to set up...camp...then another day to tear down. :lol:

well i'm tired of typing i'm gonna go do something to it.

Update, I need an update! That trailer is big enough you could just buy a single wide mobile home and bolt it down, instant luxurious camping with a jacuzzi tub :shock:

Have you thought about making that trailer nice and shiny, then selling it for enough to pick up a newer, smaller trailer? :thinking:

I agree with swiss army girl I'd go with the stretch tear drop with the hot tub. gives a whole new meaning to "pimp my ride" LOL I just love that dual axle. so many possibilities. keep us posted I wanna see that when you get going.
