Are Dexter axles adjustable?

Thanks, Don. I have had speaks with an engineer at Dexter and he has also told me that the best ride is when the trailer is at or near the rated poundage of the axle rating. Something else he told me is that the softest/best ride is when the trailing arm of the axle is as close to parallel with the road as possible, when loaded.

That's what they told me too - The 22.5 degree downangle is the most popular way to go because when loaded to near capacity, the torque arm is the closest to level of all of them

Arne, do you know the increments of each spline as you adjust?

Jeff,

Just checked my adjustable Flexiride axle. Sixty splines, so 6 degrees of rotation per one spline of adjustment. The Flexiride arm is 4.5" long, center of torsion shaft to center of hub spindle (axle). That will give you about 1/2" adjustment per spline when the torque arm is horizontal, somewhat less if you want a ride height where the hub spindle is above or below the torsion shaft. I had been given these numbers before on the forum but just confirmed them.

Thanks, Bruce. That makes me feel better about getting a Flexride. I ordered it after I got to work but didn't know about how fine the splines were. It was $227 + $50 shipping to my work..... got the 2000 lb. axle and had it derated to 1700 lbs.
