Hey from mid Minnesota

Postby Oldguy52 » Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:17 pm

Hello, My name is Rik Sandberg. I'm from Long Prairie, MN.

Been lurking on the site for a while. Figured it was about time to slip out from under my rock.

Sometime this summer I should become the owner of a Camp-Inn 560. Not sure when yet. Been on order since May, but they haven't started building yet.

I have sure admired some of the builder's projects in these fora. Many talented craftsmen here. Unfortunately, woodworking and patience are not my strong suits, but I sure have enjoyed looking.

Thanks for having me,
Rik....'08 Camp-Inn 560

Welcome Rik! It's always nice to have more people from Minnesota. A bunch of us are getting together at Wisconsin's Black River State Forest for a little get together on the 18th through the 21st of July. Your welcome to come out. There will even be a Camp-Inn present! Here is the link to the thread on the subject:

Hope to see you there!

Hi Rik, you can't go wrong with a Camp-Inn, it's a great teardrop built by great people. Looks like another Scandinavian is about to become a teardropper, so join the club. Good luck on your purchase, enjoy it as often as you can, and lets see a pic of your new toy in action.

Hi Rik,
Welcome!
We are from Mora, and we have good friends who grew up in Long Prairie.
As Tim said, come on down to Black River with us. Some people have even been known to sleep in tents at the get togethers because they didn't have trailers yet. Right Tim and Diane?
Keep in touch. :)

Thanks for the invite. Unless our TD happens to be ready to pick up on that weekend I don't think we'll be able to make that one. BR Falls is an awfully pretty area though. I hope you all enjoy.

Mora, eh. One of our sons and his wife live over near bock, so we get over that way fairly regularly. I'm originally from Princeton.

Maybe "SLEPT", was a bad choice of words.
I should have said, "planned to sleep" in a tent.
How have you been? Wouldn't you REALLY rather camp with us than your family? Have fun!

Yeah. The tent fell apart, so I was sleeping in the cab of the truck with the dogs.
I have been doing great, but the rain is killing my trailer. With all the rain I have not been able to do too many improvements and the rain is getting under the paint. Good news though, I bought a tent-like thing to put the trailer in to get it out of the rain, but hey, it's raining again, so I can't set it up.
Yes I would rather be camping with you guys then staying in a hotel. With my teardrop I sleep on a bed, in the hotel, I sleep on the floor. (I can't share a bed.)
I will be seeing you guys around though, looking forward to the next gathering.

Greetings from Minneapolis! We just ordered a Camp-Inn 550. We won't have it for this season, but we'll get it in April. I can't wait, and I've been busy getting "stuff" for it. My biggest find was a slightly dirty but washable latex mattress at Ikea for half-price. It's going to be a long winter, but what else is new?

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

I'm hoping to learn a little about the secrets of teardropping campsite free. A lot of our trips would be more like travel than camping and I hope this TD will help to avoid the hassle and expense of both motels and campsites while on the road.

Welcome, I'm a fellow teardropper from Minnesota (St. Paul) and you made a great choice on the Camp-inn , some of us have to work our way up to such a nice trailer. I'm on my second trailer and know my third will most likely be a Camp-inn.
