Gaelen: Good to hear from ya. Wow you really pack a lot into your non-chemo weeks. Take care and have fun with the sun spot.

The new tires are on and, after helping my mom pick out a new cell phone, I stopped in Walmart to get some more supplies on my brother's list, and found a Sunspot-striped patio umbrella for $20!!!!
It's striped rust, harvest gold, smiley yellow and cream, on a cream/beige pole. It tilts and has a wind vent at the top

I've been looking for an umbrella that I could bring along, and use to give a bit of shelter to the side door, or over the galley when I don't want to set up the Kelty carport or in addition to the carport. And it matches the Sunspot stripes perfectly.

I know--I know--pics. I will try to get some as fast as I can.

Mandy...I cram a lot into non-chemo weeks (actually, only about the last five days right before the next infusion) because this chemo is kicking my butt, too.. no energy, no stamina, dizziness and fatigue that just comes on and won't leave along with a helping of nausea on actual infusion days. So I've got to cram everything I can into the good days.

It's the top one, Mandy--and it looks so great over the door and the back galley of the Sunspot.
(EDIT--okay, looking closer, it's the bottom one!)

Pics tomorrow, I promise!

  Oh pretty. I love my big umbrella but it is on a Sunspot and probably doesn't get all the UV's. Gaelen happy to hear you are getting around and your cute lil camper isn't leaking after a hard winter.

Here's a picture of my umbrella. We took it fishing this week when we were somewhere without trees. Real portable.

If I can find some more this big I am getting them. They allow some of the wind around but still block the sun.

BTW Harbor Freight has some smaller ones for $6.

Well, ladies .... no pictures and no umbrella... but I was absolutely tickled pink and giddy when I got an email at work this afternoon from this person that has my little Jewel Box..... the pinstripping is done and "makes it 'pop' but isn't too big" and the clear coat was sprayed on today ... then he mentioned that he had carried the clear coated fender over to another place , and "the fender sparkles like gold dust in the sunshine" .... :)

Oh I'm getting so excited... and planning on this weekend finishing the trim on one of the windows, and some of the interior trim and the hatch interior covering ... and we'll see what else.... a little 'sparkle' on the inside.... got some gold kind of shimmery material (la may?) for new curtains and need to figure out some kind of tie back for them .

ooo and ahhhh !!!!

OH and I hope you all are going to have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!!!

Hi Ladies!!!!

Gaelen, Glad you're handling all and enjoying the 'good' days, soo my friend you'll be out there camping with the rest of us!!!

Becca and Julie, I'm up for the lotto thing! I'm not independently wealthy... I actually sold some jewelry and manipulated vacation funds as I quit the regular job to do the trip, before I start the 'new' job..... and am working a second job to afford the trip.... So a little bit of the lotto $$$$ would come in handy!!!!

Mandy, Girl we got to get you a teardrop!!!, I want to come back down and camp with you, when we can work it out! I love the area around your place! And we had so much fun when we met!!!!

Miriam, WOW! what an umbrella!!!! We could sure find you at the lake!!!! Looking forward to camping with you again!!!

Lynn, your inkwell looks so good! I'd love to see it in person!!! You are so imaginative!!!!

and now an update on the Cherry Drop..... Yes, I have been doing some 'stuff' to her! I took on ice and snow on my way home from AZ last Feb and it created some discolorization on the wood.... so I painted the top/galley/front. I left the sides wood, but with the new white van..... I painted it white. Also painted the fenders white.... put black pinstriping on the white and then a Cherry Sticker on the hatch by the pinstripes.... ( I know Aunit M....picutres, I'll take them this weekend!!!!) then mounted my old JC Higgins Cooler on the tongue to be the battery box! and mounted new Teardrop LED taillights on the hatch!!!! She looks Amazing! Also greased the hubs to prepare her for the trip... If I have time over the weekend I want to put screens inside the doors. I'll give her a total cleaning and be ready to leave Thursday the 10th...

Oh a change in plans too.... Sam and the Turtle are meeting us in Cody WY for the trip through Yellowstone!!!! YAY!!!

Julie, I can't wait to see the Jewel box!!!! She will sparkle just like her owner!!!! Although the Cherry Drop is also freshened up, she will pale next the the Jewel Box!!!! But will have to do it anyway!!!!

For all of you camping over the 4th, Please be safe!!! enjoy.... and report cards and pic's after!!!

 Hi Pam! Glad to hear your Cherry Drop is getting refreshed. I am doing mine when it gets too hot to do anything else and the humidity drops.

The umbrella is only 8 feet opened but it is so light weight I can put it up in a minute.

Hey girls guess what this is?

the tail lights are to be glued down in a few minutes. ;) I posted the picture on the sticky but want it here too. ;)

Hey Pam I bet your a very busy woman with all the customizing of the Cherry Drop. I wanted to go camping this weekend but moneys tight and I can't swing it. Maybe I'll go to the last gasp this year now a got a vehicle that can make it. Maybe in the future we can have a ladies gathering somewhere.

Marilyn hows everything in TX?

Barb hows the new trailer?

Julie sparkle, sparkle can't wait for the reveal of your TD.

Aunti M: I used to have a chair that had it's own awning overhead, but a wind has torn it up by now. So I got one of those umbrella's that screw onto the camp chair. I like it but it's not big enough maybe I'll get one like yours and Gaelen, they sell them at the Family Dollar Store for 4.00.

Rebecca: How's Floridia now?

Siobhra: No wonder you want a TD those Trader Tents are heavy.

Well have fun Girls

Mandy - things are hot here in FL. Rain coming out the ying-yang but not complaining...it could be worse.

Pam and Jules - I am jealous! I want a purty teardrop too. Actually I am waiting patiently until Feb. or March for a friend of my son's to move here. He is an artist and said he would paint my Tear so I am waiting. Until then I will just drool over yours.

Haven't been camping lately. It rains every weekend and I don't do rain-camping very well. Plus the economy has slowed my fun down a bit.

Pam, are you bringing a laptop on your month long trip? We want to hear from you so we can feel like we are camping with you. That is so cool that Sam and the Turtle will be camping with you. Take lots of pics. :pictures:
Uhh...when did this get put on --- :poop: It looks like Elmo!
Oh, almost forgot...Miriam, you did a great job on your little racer! I am pulling for yours to win.

Thanks Becca! I had so much fun building it I really hate to let it go. It was amazingly easy to do. Much easier than a real one. Course the glue and 1/64th plywood helped a bunch. 8) Gotta love hold and stick. Too bad we can't do that with a real one.

That's real cute Aunti M!
Is it a prototype for a full size one???
