Finally!

Postby mechmagcn » Tue Jul 08, 2008 12:25 pm

We finally have a diagnosis for Donna and have started a treatment plan. She was diagnosed with a sarcoma type cancer in the lower abdomen that is inoperable because of the size and location. The Drs hope to treat it with both chemo and radiation and then we will know what treatment will still be required.
We want to thank everyone who was at the PJII gathering for thier hospitality and a special thanks to Cindy who shared her experience with cancer and actually gave us hope that there can be a favorable outcome to this.
I have been about to go crazy with worry with all of the waiting. It seems that the medical system works on a slower pace than I do, but we are finally getting somewhere.
We hope to see all of you again soon, Jeff & Donna

Awww...I am sorry to hear your news but you are right...there is hope. I have a friend that has had the same thing, and if I'm not mistaken, in the same location and she is still going strong after 15 years. There are a couple of forum members fighting the big "C" and we are all praying for them and now Donna and you have been added to my prayer list. Once the word gets around, you will be on the entire forum's list! :worship:
Hang in there and fight like hell.

Sorry to hear the news. I don't know anything about cancer, but I hope everything turns out okay.

Donna and jeff our prayers go out to you for a cancer free result, and peace of mind. I know it is much harder for the partner than the person actually going through it.

Many Blessings

Jeff & Donna, it was good to meet you at PJ II. I am so sorry to hear the results of the tests but prayer helps and we will all be praying for you. I know of several survivors of cancer, I am one of them. Just have faith and try to enjoy life the best you can until this thing is licked. Donna, as long as you feel up to it, join us every chance you get. You have to feel better around us nutty people. I know it is hard to think of anything else but we will do our best to help you get your mind on other things, if only for a little while.

It was great to meet you at PJII. Macy and I will keep you guys in our prayers.
Having a positive attitude is so very important. Try and get your tear campable. Can not think of a better way to relax than to be together camping. Doesn't have to be a long trip. Go to Moro Bay or any of the close by camping areas.

All the best to Donna.

Best wishes

Postby Cindy » Wed Jul 09, 2008 7:31 pm

Prayers and best wishes to you. I am glad that I was able to give you hope. There is always hope as long as there is breath. If you need to talk, just call. I am sending my phone to your pm. Just remember something that always helped me. As long as you feel something, whether it is pleasure or pain, love or hate, joy or despair, at least you know you are alive because you feel something.

Update: We went to Little Rock this AM to see the Dr who does the chemo treatments. We have to be at the local hospital at 6AM tomorrow to put in a "port" in a vein for the chemo treatments. These will start next Tuesday and are expected to last at least 6 months. At least he comes down here every 2 weeks to treat local patients. Started radiation therapy Monday and it will last 6.5 weeks. So far they are giving us a favorable prognosis, but only time will tell.
I am still working on our teardrop with hopes to be able to use it for many years to come. We even plan to be at LCGIII, will make our reservation tomorrow.
Thanks to all for the prayers and well wishes. This has been a life changing event for me and I don't think that I could make it without my friends.

:worship: Donna we will be praying for you tomorrow. I went through two cancers and lost a lot of hair with the tiny radiation pills I had. It does grow back. My biggest fear at the time was I would loose my hair. Dumb I know! Just remember we are all wishing you the very best outcome.

btw---I donated my last cut to "Locks of Love" for that reason. That's a hint all you long hairs.

Donna and Jeff, good luck tomorrow. I know this is going to be a long, rough road but please go down it with a butt kicking attitude! We are ALL praying for your complete recovery.

Here is a loving {{{{{hug}}}} for you. You may have to go through treatments alone (so to speak) but we are all here for you - anytime...and for you too Jeff.
