Homemade Velcro Cable Ties

Postby wlooper89 » Wed Jul 09, 2008 10:48 am

A new photo in our album shows our camping kitty Paige with a homemade Velcro attach point for a cable tie. The Velcro ties were placed underneath the trailer and in the electrical compartment to secure wires to metal without drilling holes. I used 2" squares of Lexan plastic, but any flat material should work. The industrial strength Velcro I found at Home Depot and a flat head machine screw is countersunk under the Velcro. The cable ties are the type that have a hole in one end for screw attachment. This method of securing wires and cables is strong enough and the Velcro can be removed if necessary.

Paige was very sleepy but willing to pose for the photo.

Thank you so much for those kind words. Your early support and encouragement helped me a lot.

A few new comments attached to photos in my album identify makers or vendors for some of the electrical system parts. One or two others describe some of the wiring arrangement.
