That's a beautiful garden Dee Bee!
I never grew rhubarb, but my grandma always had it in her garden.
I really miss having a garden. Its one of the downsides to apartment living.

When you dice up the rhubarb for pies make sure you make a rhubarb/cherry. I think that combination is WAAAAAY better than strawberry, and besides everybody makes rhubarb/strawberry.

WOW what a beautiful garden. I had one about that size up to 1993 but covered it with cement and built my shop . One of these days I'll build some small raised gardens on the south side of the house. It use to give me great pleasure to grow my own vegetables. Danny

I just noticed in your picture....marigolds at the ends of the rows...is that to keep critters away? I think I remember reading something about that.

This is what I picked today, Paul Robeson Heirloom. I have eight different heirloom tomato plants and all with fruit. The rest of them can be seen here but many are a week away from ripe. Then look out We be eating well.

I have some peppers but they are not thriving so I got some at the Farmers Market and tried my hand at Chili Rellenos tonight.

The last two are in the middle of the picture but they did not last long. The tomatoes are on the plate to the left... caprese.

I would be thoroughly embarrassed to post pictures of mine...or what there is of it this year. I have had 0 hours to tend to it so all I've got is about 3 dozen tomato plants (plus at least that many strays) just about as many peppers and an over abundance of rather prolific and tall weeds....so tall in fact that the 3 foot tall maters are rather hard to distinguish from the weeds. The maters do seem to be doing rather well in spite of the weeds and lack of attention tho! I haven't seen the peppers in a couple or three weeks so really can't comment on them...I'm sure they're in there some where.
I really need to get in some green beans before we leave on Thurs. tho cause we're about out and the wife refuses to buy them in the store any more, just ain't the same!

I have heard that it helpd with nematodes-a microscopic worm, and rabbits. But I use a fence for rabbits and plant the flowers mainly for looks.

Here are some of the plants we are growing:
lettuce, peas, potatoes, kale, chard, beans, edemome, tomatoes, asparasug, beets, onions, shallots, garlic, carrots, cauliflower, squash (summer and winter), cucumbers, raspberries, peppers.





Plus a few flowers here and there too.
