Hello to all:
I've been lurking for months, and would like to say hello and introduce myself.
I came by teardropping via my other new hobby, astronomy. Astronomers tend to gather in dark places, far from city lights and amenities. As I quickly discovered, tents and sleeping on the ground wasn't working for me. Investigating solutions that weren't more expensive than my next telescope led me to teardrops and this forum.
I've learned a LOT from the forum. First thing I learned was that I am a buyer, not a builder (yet). Though I have an engineering background, I am incompetent at building things out of wood. Or just about any other material you'd care to name. But, reading lots of threads taught me things to look for, what's important, and what can be left off.
Armed with this education, I purchased a used Freedom model teardrop and am having a great time outfitting it and making it mine. I tow it with my mighty Subaru Outback.
So, thanks to you all for your fine advice. I look forward to learning more. I may even make it to a teardrop event some day(armed with a telescope or two).
Best regards,
Steve
