Second newby from Mesa

Postby Lucky489 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 12:26 pm

My name is Mark. I am from Mesa, AZ. Been reading for a month or so. A little history I currently have a large Toyhauler, but it is very costly to camp with the price of diesel. I do alot of solo camping without the family. A friend of mine just finished his build, and I said perfect.

I am assembling parts and information. I am more inclined to square trailers, so I am planning on building an insulated weekender on a 5 x 10 trailer.

Some of my interests are flyfishing (trout and salt), offroading I have a sand rail that goes in the toyhauler and a couple of quads for the kids, 2 boys age 14 and 15, I love to cook and do quite abit of dutch oven cooking.

Thanks for the site and the great collection of information..

Welcome Mark. Lots of info here, if you can not find what you are looking for be sure and ask. As far as dutch oven cooking there some fanatics here, or Joann has her own forum, just on camp cooking (somebody kind will give you the link).

Thanks. I have been to Joanne's website and also read her build thread about 20 times now. Both are very nice sites.

Welcome from Avondale, Mark! I'm in process with mine, inspired greatly by our host, Mike and his Weekender, and Joanne and her Desert Dawg. I have yet to name mine, but as I live in the Phoenix Valley, and am building on the chassis of a dead teardrop, the Phoenix comes to mind. :)

You will have a great time, except now, when it is too muggy to work on the darned thing! I can handle 110º with 15% humidity better than 100º and this 50% stuff we've had the last few weeks!

When you get going, remember to take lots of pictures!
God Bless

Cliff
