I think you should board up, just in case. Just don't make the mistake of using the spam as a filler between the house and the ply. It will harden better than epoxy and you are liable to suffocate.

Spam spam spam spam spam.

robert's son with kids (9, 14)lives in portland. it's 10?or so miles from Aransas Pass, right between Corpus Christi Bay and Neuces Bay. we decided right now wasn't a good time to go down as planned.

funny thing, started pouring buckets of rain overnight here in middle missouri (by the missouri river). so we had flash flooding all around us today. :rainy:

SOMETIME we will camp. surely i get more than 2 nights in the Guppy! (it's all up to God, so am ok with whatever even if i whine!)

Rain in July? I think we have a city ordinance against that. Shoot--it will probably make that brown stuff in my front yard turn green and cause it to grow. Where did I store that gas powered lawn cutter thingy?

You might have a city ordinance for it not to rain in July. But let me tell you, it doesn't work. I was in Texas last July and it rained.

Gage that's not rain in Texas. It is falling humidity.

It's not rain unless it has hail stones the size of softballs and funnel clouds on the ground ripping sod. :R

Well, last year in Texas it rained pretty much the entire first part of the year. Lakes were overflowing and by this time in July we had not had a 100 degree day yet in DFW. THIS year is a completely different story. That's Texas weather for you.

Well Tony, it looks like Dolly is going ashore south of you but you should still get lots of rain. Stay dry!

You just happened to choose one of the wettest 1st half of summer we've had. What you experienced is unusual. Normally from the first week in June until sometime in September, we are pretty dry. Last year was the exception. Had to mow every 5 days to keep up with the grass growth. In normal summers, I only have to mow a few times.

Everyone--keep your fingers crossed and prayers coming for those folk on the Texas border. Looks like they are in for some pain and rain. We're finally snagging a few heavy showers here in CC. Supposed to be heaviest tonight and tomorrow--clear by Friday.

This morning I got up and turned on the weather channel and Jim Cantor was on the beach doing his typical reporting. The rain and sand was blowing and I actually heard him call the curving rain bands around the eye of Dolly, Ballerinas!

:scratchthinking: Ballerinas?

Image

What the.... First I was stunned and had to think about what I just heard. Then I laughed so hard I almost fell out the chair.

I was surprised to see that the other news networks were not reporting on the storm. Im sure they are, but it wasn't on every channel I turned to.

Anywho, I hope this storm doesn't do to much damage. I know how hard it can be and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Y'all stay safe down there in Texas. Watch out for 95mph Ballerinas.

No wonder these things are so dangerous--did you see the number of arrows blowing around in there?!
