Hi my wife and I are currently running around the eastern seaboard in her 2007 Honda Element and are seriously looking at acquiring or building a teardrop or something small (under 1500 lbs) to tow, since the price of gas is killing us to do too much in my GMC Sierra.
I have lurked for a little while, lots of good info here.

Welcome frogbiscuit. Yes you can build a trailer under 1500 pounds, mine is under 1000. Roly built one that weights about 250 pounds, so your weight limitations are easy enough. Ask questions, take some pics and enjoy.

Image to the playground. With an element and a teardrop you can certainly save gas and drag a bunch of stuff around. Look around and let us know how we can help.

Enjoy

Hey Frogbiscuit,

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like the other guys covered the bases...

You can build as light as you want...

Here's a lightweight design that we need someone to build so we can learn how lightweight it really is!

The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...
