Way cool find Elmo. But really, a 216?!? Gas prices are going back down...go for a big block. Supercharger on a 454...argargarg ohoh. Best part about it you prolly have enough room under that big hood to do anything you want to with out cutting it up.

My buddy that I borrowed the car trailer from already offered me a completely set up Chevy S10 frame with a small block for $1000...maybe some where down the line, but not now. Once I get into it I may change my mind. One of the first things I am going to do its get the body off the frame and get it blasted and powder coated and then have the body blasted right away to see what I have to work with.

I take that back...the first thing I am going to do is get some bug bombs and throw them and shut the doors to kill all the barn spiders!

It is still here...hanging out in the back yard. Probally advertise after I get back from Sturgis. I will probally build up a 1946 KIT replica to pull behind my new project.

Great find Elmo, just tell your wife it's a rescue vehicle. You could turn the back into a bunkroom for the kids so everyone has a dry place to sleep.

Maybe pushing it a little, but maybe. I figure I am going to start on the body stuff now while I can do a lot of it outside and do the mechanics over the winter.

I will probally come down with the bigger camper next year!

Nice find. That was built the same year I was born.......and appears to have aged much better than I did.

If you freshen up that 216 you will find it will pull like a farm tractor. There is something about the bore and stroke combination on those engines that make them a pulling fool at low engine rpms. You will be amazed how well it will handle a trailer. I dare guess you will get 18 - 22 MPG routinely as well. STOCK IS BEAUTIFUL !!!

Stock is what I am going for...there are a couple of things I found today that I need to ask a couple of my body guys what to do.

I also wish I could find a interior picture of a stock/original one.

I just took a break from ripping or trying to rip the seat a part...it looks like something may have been living in it at one time and I don't want to stick it in the garage until it is just a frame.
