One word DURO
The 1st was at the January shivaree 125 miles home on a tire that was so distorted from a major ply seperation it was rubbing on the frame and the wall rim. You could smell burning rubber. It 2 am and 17 below it was coming home on the rim I was not gonna change it in those conditions.
Truth be told it was probably underinflated when I got the trailer and I never checked them. This was my fault IF that was the case.
The Brown County Blowout , blowout .......
I installed the 12" tires off of my 40 x 48 hf trailer onto the 4x8 axle set that originally came with only the 8" tires. I was certain there would be no difference in the frames themselves and should accept the larger tires. I still believe they should interchange HOWEVER ..... I left the steel fenders on the axle set to help protect the floor . There is a bolt in the fender directly above the tire. This bolt works much like a parting tool on a wood lathe it cut a 1/2" deep groove directly in the center of the tread and the resulting blowout was exciting. Even more exciting was learning my Grand wagoneer has a good old fashion bumper jack and not a telescopic bottle type like the Scion and the pickup.

I wind up using 2 screw type leveling jacks to raise the trailer as far as possible then dug a hole with a claw hammer and lower the spare tire into it finally getting the spare on the hub. GOD AIN'T CAMPIN' FUN
now arn't you sorry you asked
