Introduction and help w/ Little Guy

Postby firefighter157 » Thu Jul 31, 2008 7:27 pm

Hello everyone
My name is Mike. I'm in Northern Ca. I have been reading and researching teardrops for a few years and intend to purchase one this week. A seller emailed me the following picture today of a Little Guy 6-wide sport. Is it just me or is there some sort of water damage on the lower rear end? Any clues or suggestions? I am second guessing even considering this particualr unit. Any advice would help.
Thanks
Mike

Certainly looks like there is something going on there. I seem to recall that there was a water leak problem with some Little Guys -- perhaps some LG owners could confirm/deny that.

It could be or it could be an optical illusion like what is under the door - perhaps the seller can send a pict of the same spot from another angle. The site mentions that this model has fiberglass exterior. That might mean some type of delamination, but I haven't seen fiberglass do that kind of bubbling. if it is water damage then is also in the inside as well and bleeding out

Thanks for the quick replys. I spoke with the salesman and disscussed my concerns. Tomorrow he is taking several more photos of the suspect area as well as photos of the inside galley/floor area. He is confident that there is not h20 damage. Having read Sandmans horror story I will preceed with caution. Thanks again. I will post updated info tomorrow.

What year is that trailer?

I wouldn't buy one that I even suspected might have water damage. So from that pic I wouldn't be buying that one.

Unless it was one heck of a fantastic deal.

Welcome, Mike! I bought a tear that turned out to have water damage. Iset out to see how bad it was, and ended up tearing it down to the chassis and starting over! Be very careful. Check out my album.

Good luck!
God Bless

Update

Postby firefighter157 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 3:42 pm

So I spoke with the salesman last night and told him of my concerns. He assured me that there was no water damage on the unit. I asked him for some additional close up photos from both outside and inside. I have yet to hear back from him. I've decided to pass on this trailer. But, Scott at LG has been great at locating an affordable trailer for me that can be sent out here with a previously scheduled delivery. The deal is not finalized but so far looks promising. Thanks for all of your help. I will keep you updated.
Mike
