I'm In texas wonder how i can see if i can get it for that price? Also does it come as a titled trailer, or do you have to reg. it as a home built? I know tractor supply, gives you paperwork with vin and all, even a 30 day paper plate.

There's a whole bunch of H.F. stores in TX. Give the nearest one a phone call. It can't hurt.

I can't say how you do it in Texas, but in Cali, hf gave me a "certificate of origin", kinda like a bill of sale, then you assemble it, and bring it to dmv with all the paper work (reciepts, and the cert.) then they issue a plate and tags. You may want to check with the Tex dmv if you go that way. The trailer should have a plate on it with vin# on it 8)

Here in Mississippi, it was a piece of cake. Just took the sales receipt from HF and the "properly" filled out title transfer to the County Tax Collector's Office (that's where they issue the license plates here). Notice I said "properly" filled out title transfer....HF is considered a dealer and they need to put there ID # on the back of the transfer in the appropriate place. I had to make a trip back to HF to get them to do it before MS would register the trailer. My HF trailer has a VIN # plate riveted to the stock tongue.

Every state has their own rules and regs, so a phone call in advance wouldn't hurt; but my trailer wasn't even fully assembled when I got the plates for it!!

OH YEAH!!! I also had to pay sales tax twice!!! I bought the trailer from HF in Tennessee and paid sales tax at point of purchase. I had to pay it again in MS when I registered the trailer. HF doesn't have any process in place for cross state line sales tax agreements.

Last year, I bought a trailer to haul woodworking (including teardrop supplies) and landscape materials from a Hf store in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They didn't give me a 30-day tag but they did give me a certificate for registration. It was a pretty easy process to get license tags and registration. There isn't any inspection; in fact, I hadn't even assembled the trailer when I registered it.

While on the topic of HF trailers and registration... I have an HF frame that I bought about a year ago (still in the box). I have not registered it yet. I do have the certificate of origin.

I wonder if DMV will charge me a late registration fee from the date purchased for not registering it yet.

it's possible, when I did mine, they wanted the purchase reciept for the amount I paid and when I bought it.If I'm not mistaken, the sales dude at hf said I had 30 days to reg. it. I may be wrong. 8)
