Thanks guys.

I'm hoping to be able to look at lots of trailers when we visit Kurt and Scott at Madison this coming week.

Arne.
Thanks for the tip...

Hi Greg,

The window I posted was one I thought looked like the right size for your purposes, but I did not get this one, I got a tall skinny non opening window that I used as a moon roof. But the manufacturer is the same and it looks just as you would expect I guess on the inside. The auction page has a pic of the inside of it too.

Those guys were bad about returning emails on eBay, usually took 2-3 days and communication was sketchy, but ironically when I called them, they were very knowledgeable and helpful and went out of their way for me. Must just bean email thing. the packing was super professional too. (No I don't work there haha)

Hello 2bits.
Looks like they have several that can be made to work on my build. I too like the modern look.
The prices do not look all that bad..
Thanks for the help.
Greg.

Yeah I found that windows can get freaky, I figure if I am going to pay $50 a window, as long as I am not going for the vintage look, I'll take "cool" instead.

I'm not particular with my first build. I'm like you ,if it looks "kool" and it's cheap I'll use it..

How you coming along with yours. Haven't see any new pictures .Or did I miss them.

Aside from salvage yards, Grant's prices are hard to beat. I prefer the awning style windows because I can leave them open a bit even if it is raining. The sliders look better, I think, but I'm a function over form type of person.

Of course I will be checking Grant's windows when I'm ready for them.
Camping alone and some times in dead of winter my memory tells me that crank out windows leave a lot to be desired keeping out the cold draft.

I remember camping in a 12' trailer at the base of the Stein mountains in late Dec. I had to duct tape the crank outs from the outside to keep the wind from blowing past them. But that was back in the mid eighties and the trailer was a sixties model . Brrrrrr. But then again, the window manufacturers may have a better design now......

Right now,I'm trying to solve my wheel size dilemma and where the fender will be bolted. And I thought this was going to be fun for a laid back guy like me.Hell,my wife don't even stress me out as much as this project has.... 8)
Thanks for the suggestion.

I post everything on my build thread in my signature. I just cut the hole for the sunroof and bought a vent and some lighting. Took it out for it's first drive too. Things are slow this week as I am working on the truck alot and kind of in a holding pattern until I get all the lighting and vents in my possession so I know where everything is going to be before I can put the roof on.

So far my biggest stresses were the axle and what lighting to buy, everything else was fun designing. I am losing the taste for the sand/stain/polyurethane game though

You been working on the build haven't ya'. Looking good, especially your choice of colors. your choice in wheels aint too shabby either....

Next you'll be painting the truck to match your build.Or are you planning a Monty rebuild especially for the TD. I would.. ;)
So when do you think you'll be on a camping run.

Hey Greg,

My truck will be painted black and I think that will match the back top skin nicely. I am hoping to be done in a month or so, but it al depends on money and time. It's not a goal, just a guess for me. Thanks for the nice comments too!
