Been enjoying this thread.....and a big gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who has served/serving in the military!!!

I choose my nick because it's what I feel like for 3-4 months out of the year, when I'm chasing wildfires around the western US. A lot of travel between fires, living in a tent/hotel room, then moving on to the next one. Quick & Dirty version: I map fires from a helicopter. Why do I do it?!? I LOVE the smell of JetA in the morning.

Sorry to dissapoint, but my real name is not Fornesto. My first name is Forrest and my Mexican buddy couldn't figure out the "Spanish" version of that name....until he came up with Fornesto. It stuck.

"DAROCKRIDER"

I use the online name of DAROCKRIDER cause I am originally from the Canadian province of Newfoundland, which is affectionately known as "da rock" I have ridden my motorcycle several times from my current home in Manitoba (above the MN/ND border) to Newfoundland thus "darockrider". This is a trip of some 5000 plus miles............so you need a hard butt and a teardrop!. Last time I went was over 10,000km (6000 plus miles) in 18 days. Easytrip with a teardrop to sleep in each night!

Grab a cup of coffee for this one.

We play a game called Balderdash. And one of the words I got was dahoon. The answer I wrote was: A slow witted person. Everyone picked it as the right answer. I scored the points and won, even though it was wrong. So everyone there was labeled as a dahoon and we started a clan of the Dahoons.

By the by the real answer is a South American plant that looks like a fern.

My other nickname come from a term that faulicly challenged people detest. OTTOYH=Off The Top Of Your Head. But, it sounded too Middle Eastern I dropped it after Sept. 11.

How's your coffee.

When I canceled and resubscribed to a previous ISP they wouldn't let me have bledsoe2 (I guess bledsoe1 was already taken). So bledsoe3 was the next available. Pretty boring. But if I use it for everything I don't forget what my log in is. Most of the time anyway. :?

I chose mine because I like nostalgic things, old cars, olde trailers, old rockand roll...

BTW, I'm collecting materials for a woodie teardrop. Then I'll have a car thats still in the box and a trailer thats still in the crate. :D

So far I have gotten a HF trailer and am investigating woods for the sides and looking for old '39 Chevy style fenders.

Postby ABXGuy » Sun Jul 17, 2005 9:27 pm

I've been using the ABXGuy nick for many years in forums and in sports. At the time, I was a courier driver for Airborne Express and I would always here "The Airborne Express guy is here!" when making deliveries in offices, etc. So.... ABXGuy, but Airborne Express no longer exists since it was purchased by DHL... I've been thinking of switching to DHLGuy.... NOT. I've had ABXGuy to long.

If you Google ABXGuy you'll find out more about my other hobby.

My screen name has been Cracker 39 forever. It started as a CB handle Florida Cracker in the 80s. First , most people don't even know the origin of that word...Cracker. Most think of it as derogatory, but, It isn't. The early settlers in North Florida and Georgia, who farmed Sugar Cane, drove their oxen or mule pulled wagons of cane to the mill for grinding. They cracked bull whips to keep the oxen or mules moving. They earned the nickname of Crackers. As a native Floridian (a very rare species I am told), I am proud to be called a Cracker. As a screen name, I simply used Cracker and my birth year, '39.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.
